metalguru 582 Posted February 6, 2017 Share Posted February 6, 2017 HMYGOD some Gaga fans are so cruel. I think floor projections are just extra. Katy used them because she was not dancing at all. In Gaga's show, everything was about Gaga, she filled the whole thing or she didn't stuck with one song (aka Bey's Crazy In Love) with multiple visual tricks. It was the best SB performance after Michael Jackson. The jump will stay in the history. But my favorite was when she was on the tower with the ropes behind her. She was floating like a super hero. My only sadness is ARTPOP right now. I think she also wanted to put ARTPOP into its strange, cult corner. Look, we are all talking about ARTPOP right now. lxdygxga 3,138 Posted February 6, 2017 Share Posted February 6, 2017 The performance truly blew me away. I was expecting a lot from her, but nothing quite that spectacular. Loved the setlist (although I did miss Applause, I won't lie), and especially loved that it wasn't a case of the Halftime featuring the current album. So often when people promote new singles there (Madonna and Gimme All Ur Luvin), the song gets discarded afterwards. Million Reasons will be the defining ballad of Gaga's career to date, so even when we look back in 10, 20 years, this performance encapsulated her whole career and didn't just seem like a promotion tool. The costumes were beautiful, great work by Versace, and I'm glad she shook her hair out. Was happy to see the red lips back too - classic Gaga. Especially loved that she kept Bad Romance white, but had a playful edge with her football costume, I'm happy she doesn't take herself so seriously anymore. Loved that she started patriotic. Dance in the Dark was a huge surprise, and the little medley on top of the tower was so nostalgic. Super surprised Telephone made it, but very happy it did, and YES! at the return of the Disco Stick. I also adore that she went different to everyone else too, and didn't close with a ballad, but closed big and bombastic. The lighting and projections were truly next level, and it really made the performance so incredible. I'm so proud of her, she left absolutely nothing behind, and this should shut down any "fans" that think she may have lost her edge and her creativity. And I'm actually pissed at people finding stupid things to complain about. Thank you Gaga for reminding me why I fell in love with you in the first place. As a result, she's at the top of the iTunes singles and album chart. Yess!! I was living for the new disco stick and latex costumes in BTW. This performance was like the monster ball and born this way ball had a baby. I ****ing loved it. And her vocals, as always were on point. My favorite moments were: - the medley of Dance in the Dark/Just Dance/LoveGame/Paparazzi that played as she descended. - the flip and entrance to the main stage following Poker Face. - when you could hear the crowd in front of her shout "BABY YOU WERE BORN THIS WAY" during the bridge when she held the mic out to them. - the nice little firework flourish as she said "I was born to be brave" at the end of BTW. - TELEPHONE CHOREOGRAPHY! Something about it has always gotten me amped up. Probably Monster Ball memories. - instrumental outro/aerial views at the end of Just Dance. She gave her all and I am so proud and happy. The only thing that pissed me off a bit was the shooting / recording of the show. It surely doesn't live up to the actual performance and its visuals. Many scene changes and cuts were done poorly and we probably lost a lot of what was happening there. I wish she had performed Applause instead of Telephone and ended with TEOG (maybe making the MR and BR performances shorter). jxckk 959 Posted February 6, 2017 Share Posted February 6, 2017 It was beyond amazing, so glad I stayed up late to watch her performance. She totally deserves all the praise she is getting today. The best halftime show ever. I loved the outfits, choreography, stage layout. She really did not need projections, it was so high energy. That bungee jump was something else (even though it was pre-recorded) along with the small remix at the beginning on top of the platform. What an entrance. A solid halftime show throughout. MR did kind of kill the mood but it was a good performance of the song and its climbing on iTunes which I imagine is what her management was wanting to happen. The only gripe I have is Telephone, I absolutely hate the song. She killed the choreography but I would have loved if she had done Applause instead. Overall, amazing, can't wait for the tour.
