migamiga 12,102
Since a lot of people are speculating/wondering how Gaga's halftime performance will affect her sales/streaming points, I've compiled a couple articles from Billboard detailing post-SB sales from the last 7 years. Last year, Coldplay benefited the most (no surprise since they were the headliner and had a recent release [album was 3 months old at time of performance]). Both Bruno and Bey saw an increase as well, but were not as dramatic (probably due to the fact that their latest albums were 3+ years old) http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/super-bowl/6875498/super-bowl-halftime-show-coldplay-beyonce-bruno-sales In 2015, Katy saw a 92% surge in album and single sales while Missy's sales rose by 996%. These numbers probably aren't the best for predicting Gaga's numbers due to both Katy and Missy performing during an off-cycle. Prism was released in late 2013 with the era wrapping up in fall 2014. In Missy's case, this was her first public performance in over 7 years. Her sales spiked due to her surprise return and some thinking she was a new artist http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6458517/katy-perry-missy-elliott-super-bowl-sales-bump This article shows sales increase from the years 2010-2012. It seems that pre-2014, sales didn't receive that huge of a spike (Beyonce's 4 saw consistently low numbers even though the album was less than 2 years old). For Madonna, her highest selling/charting album post-SB was her Celebration compilation. BEP sales in 2011 were not that impressive either. For an album that was released just that previous November, the halftime performance didn't really push it as high as you think it would (for a televised performance with an audience over 100 million). It'll be interesting to see if Gaga's sales spike will be similar to BEP (given the timing of the performance and their latest albums) or if she'll see an even higher increase since streaming weighs more now. http://www.billboard.com/articles/6457966/super-bowl-halftime-show-album-sales-boost-graphic Just don't get your hopes up

Let's not forget that it was this terrible "LUV Madonna" lead single she was performing, so it should not be a suprise that it did not help her sales. https://www.last.fm/user/derOlliM
