Finally can someone help me know where she considers herself from ? :oprah: :saladga:

"The show is coming from my heart to everyone in America that I love so much. This is my country and I'm proud to be a pop star from this country. I've travelled the whole world and it's something special to be from America. I want people that watch the Halftime show to feel the greatness of the USA. And I would like to use to that voice to bring people together on that day. Saying anything divisive would only make things worse. And that's just not what I want for my country.""

She's an American with Italian roots

"American" doesn't really exist tho, unless you're Native American

She's American.

her saying she's Italian is referring to her family heritage/origin. But she herself isn't actually Italian, because she was born in the US.

Yes it does. If you're born in the US, you're American. Let's not over complicate something that's actually quite simple.

Bette Davis

Anyone born in the United States is "American", regardless of their ethnic background. Most people are descended from immigrants, unless you're Native American.

Her ancestors came from Italy, but I've also heard that her mother's side may have some French Canadian as well. I believe I read once that the French Canadian part was untrue, but I can't quite remember, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

All of this. TBH, it's kinda weird how she goes on and on about being Italian, when she literally isn't lol.

My family descends from italy and Ireland but I don't go around talking about being Italian or Irish, because I'm not lmao

She's an American whose slight over appreciation of her roots and heritage has been made into a ridiculous meme.

Ugh, why are people complicating this. I don't mean JUST born in the US, I was implying born and raised. Gaga was born and raised in the US and has lived here her whole life, her being American is literally not up for debate.

Do people not understand the difference between nationality and heritage? No white person born/raised in the US has long term American heritage, because they ALL descended/emigrated from Europe within the last 400 year. Gagas case is literally no different than any other white person in the US.

Plus, you could became a German citizen if you wanted to.
