Bipolar Billboard strikes again, one day Gaga is Jesus, other day Gaga is a major flop

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Honestly, Gaga should get the number 1 for being the only one to do it live tbh :green: Also, Beyonce's was SO boring.

Gaga was the only one who really delivered emotionally (for me at least). You could tell she was really thinking about the meaning of the song while she was singing it. A tear even rolled down her cheek in the middle of the song. If you listen to Gaga's version and visualize in your head the situation the song is about, you just feel it and sometimes I tear up a little. She told the story. This doesn't happen when I listen to the other versions (though to be honest, I haven't listened to many of the others in full).

Bey's was so much more interesting in comparison to most, what even. :grr:

Hers had probably one of the best climaxes and those riffs and runs ended me.

Spoiler

I respect your opinion though :green:

Can't believe they put Mariah and Luther before her, they're performances were cringey and too melodramatic. Some of the production on some renditions is really bad. Up until Gaga performed, I thought Beyonce's was the best. That ending is phenomenal. But Gaga had all the extra little touches that made it the best version I'd ever heard. She had such a warm tone, such a classic tone, a tone that you don't hear nowadays when people sing the anthem. When women sing it, they try to make it too diva-ish, too modern, they add too many riffs and make it last too long. Gaga did it in such a old-fashioned good singing kinda way. And she sang it completely live too. Apparently a lot of people use playback for the anthem. Whitney's version has been notably criticised for this in recent years, now that we're so educated on behind the scenes work to make a voice sound good. Most of them also have a big band behind them to give them more clout. Gaga sing it completely live and with just a piano, an extremely rare thing. She seemed to feel every single word of the song and like she knew what it meant, it wasn't just empty words. Most people just sound like they're going through the motions when they sing it, she sounded like she meant every word.

Put it this way, I'm not even American and I'm not even keen on Star Spangled Banner (I think America The Beautiful would be a better anthem) but when Gaga sang it, it sounded like the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard and it still brings a tear to my eye. My parents, who don't even care about the singing part, were really impressed too. You could hear by the cheers from the audience throughout and see by the emotion on all the players faces that they were really touched by it all too (check out the guy with a towel round his neck just before Gaga hits the finale). With any luck, Gaga's SB performance will remind everyone of how good she performed that anthem and over time, it'll take it's place as one of the best ever renditions, if not the best. Whitney's been considered the best for 25 years and will always be remembered, so it's high time someone else took that spot.

Billboard really does not remember who actually made emotional the entire America with her rendition of the National Anthem

Others could bring great vocals acrobatics, but they surely did not bring as much emotion note by note.
