When you come from an oppressed group, you can do things like this. But if you seem to have every advantage in life, trying to start something is seen as just being all about the attention. White people are always encouraged to speak up for injustice, then when we do, we're told to shut up, stop making it all about us and let the oppressed ones speak. You can't win no matter which path you choose. I wouldn't be surprised if indeed, Gaga doesn't bring any politics up, people will slam her for not using the moment as a platform. Yet you know she'd be criticised if she did do it. 28 minutes ago, Sizzily said: I'm glad someone else said it, I didn't want to risk it. I've said something similar before. I consider it a big risk to say. But sometimes, people have to open up their minds to the truth, even if it's not what they want to hear. As a liberal, I'm not supposed to say things like this but then, I'm not like most liberals.

Race is very touchy on here So was I. Race is indeed a touchy issue. I just wish it was dealt with in the way that we used to deal with it - pointing the finger at actual racism, not throwing the word around, not demonising people purely for being white, believing that everyone should be treated equally with no special treatment, trying to heal wounds through love and understanding. But all that's different now.

She's not as radical as I thought she would be. Or is. Was. We'll see. It's not really the time or the place to do so, tbh. Even liberals want a break with entertainment and that's what the SB halftime show is about.

Killa 17,478
Mentioning names would be a bit off, she's not Eminem or whatever but yeah she does seem to hint there's a sort of social message that represents her political view and seems like a very patriotic kind of show. Now let's see what is america for Gaga. This could be the performance that America needs, or at least a cute moment, lol.
sarahb 16,612
Gaga could just sing Born This Way or say something like 'I believe in love and kindness' and some Trump fans would still cry about her promoting her 'liberal agenda' edit: I just read this comment: "she has said her performance will be about 'equality' and inclusion.' Sigh...seriously, couldn't it just be about, you know, entertainment?" Do they not think equality and inclusion is a good thing? They get offended so easily Do you feel him sir?
