Mariahs own most disliked Videos don't interest me. Why should I or anyone else focus on the negativity? It still has way more likes. So, the dislikes don't make an important point. You're using your opinion that it's a bad written song like a fact. The 'overall' quality is there. She's not interested in reinventing and taking a sudden and crazy direction. Why would she need to? She's making those Singles for fun and for her fans. That's what makes her happy. She wants to release more Music and more Singles throughout the year, maybe then again something makes you happy. She broke her arm in the middle of the #B Promotion (while she wanted to film a remix Video) and after she rested, she divorced from Nick - it has nothing to do with her wanting or needing to get a hit single. If that was the case, she wouldn't have released Infinity. She's literally doing what she likes. She's been in the Studio with her kids the other day and recorded a Song with them that she maybe releases soon. Mariah knows that her music isn't selling as well and that the Industry changed. She is not even interested in doing Promotion for 'I Don't'. She's just enjoying her life right now, because she knows if she were to release a song like that or a video like that in 5 years - the backlash would be worse. Obsessed was released 7.5 years ago, back when pure sales and radio play was how you charted, now streaming has entered the equation and Mariah isn't a pro at that because most of her fans are older and aren't bothered about streaming and she doesn't have enough interest left in her music to generate streams from the GP either. The new charting system is the reason why most hits these days are from new, young artists, because that equals young, newly interested fans, which guarantees streams. So, no, her itunes position means nothing at this point. itunes sales don't count for much these days unless people are also streaming your song and radio is playing it, neither of which will be true in Mariah's case. And the video does not have "way more likes." Do you know what the word "ratio" means? It's about how close the gap is between those likes and dislikes. If she had 1 million likes vs. 13k dislikes, that would be awesome. But 41k likes vs. 13k dislikes within just 2 days is disastrous. I think the negativity does matter because when songs aren't well recieved by the public, that generally means back into the studio to re-do the album and a delayed release. And I'm not really using my opinion like a fact. I'm talking about this from a technical, sonical point of view. A song should sound in key. This song sounds like it was engineered to sound off-key, which is really bad production values. Mariah's voice is straining and cracking on those high notes also. What do you mean 'if she released a song or video like that in 5 years the backlash would be worse'? Everything about this video was dated 5 years ago and is even more dated today. Why do you think it would be recieved well today?

Why do you think it would be recieved well today? Thanks for YOUR opinion again, I am glad you know MUCH better and I hope YOU can make a Video such as this - but of course WAY better in the future. After you sold 200M Records, had 18 #1's and reached #5 on iTunes, 27 years into your career. After you, the vocal expert, sang live for 27 years and then of course have no of those 'cracks and strains' in your voice. After you released Albums that do not 'all sound the same'. After YOU make songs that do not 'sound off-key'. Thank you. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

Remember that without negativity in the world, there can no positivity. Without bad music, there can be no good music. I'll leave it at that.

Quasi 10,943
I like the song, but YG's parts especially the beginning part ("You just don't trust me" part) is really annoying and borderline cringey for some reason. I hate the way he's enunciating the words. But as for Mariah, I love her slower RnB songs and this one is no different. Makes me wanna light candles and relax in a tub or something. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.
100percent 10
She already got 18 #1 on Billboard and produced very successful albums every year in the 90's and dont forget about the 2005 smash album. She has achieved it all and needs to prove nothing. it is really time for her to do what she wants. Keep on saying she is slut or awful or whatever kind of ****. Think about Lady Gaga, You will be thankful and happy if she still produces and writes music at 46. I personally will not care about whether it is a hit or not, I am just happy Mariah is still writing and putting out songs. My all time favourite <3. This woman has literally achieved everything, there is nothing left to prove. By the way, the slut-shaming and ageism in the comments of the video are ****ing disgusting. It's funny to see how they say that she is a slut/trying hard to be sexy for her clothes but they say nothing about YG who is doing the same thing. feeling so hot tamale
