Conservatives don't energize their bases by throwing the truth at them, they do it by lying and slanting or dismissing the truth as liberal propaganda That's exactly what they'll do post debate, just like they did with Hillary when she demolished Trump in every debate. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had to Gerrymander for the house, they'd have more senate seats and they'd be able to win the popular vote for the presidency.
