Liberals call others close-minded yet they say things like this. I can't. Yes I label you ignorant because clearly you dont have information when it comes to this topic edit: and even if you dont have information ur still the one to talk and assume stuff .. which i dont think u should do in topics such as religion etc

Well, but I'm always wondering: can someone from a country like me, totally do and be the same in a country where religion is still very strong? And I'm not sure about the answer, but maybe you can, and if you can, I think that's a great thing.

That's that. You are not god. You didn't create this world. You didn't create humans. You didn't create countless different cultures, tribes, communities, and their history. And you aren't even a woman. You simply do not have have a right to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't wear, nor define the meaning of such decision. There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

Edonis 28,974
This thread and its inhabitants Glad to know that so much ignorant trash exists in the world And just FYI: Modern Islam does not require people to cover up any way. The concept of Hijab is taken from the same society laws on dress that are found in the Bible. As for burqa, which is what this is talking about, burqa is a cultural thing. Muslim majority countries along the Mediterranean would find it very odd to have someone just randomly decide to wear burqa one day when they aren't from countries that regularly enforce that/believe in that form of extremist Islam. Y'all I just... you can't claim to be a good person if you're actively going to trash 2 billion people in the world and the second largest religion. If every single person in that religion beat their wives or stoned a gay, there would literally be an endemic. Men who beat their wives and still fall under the category of Muslim are no different than men in the US who go to church every Sunday and beat their wives. They both can use religion as an excuse. Gangs that chase LGBT people around in the Middle East to torture and kill them are honestly no different than the holy roller baptist in the south who go gay bar hopping just to commit hate crimes. Both use religion as a source. The difference in these cases are that in the ME, you have extreme conservative politicians using religion as a way to recruit the uneducated to be their loyal supporters. Here in the states, we're not there yet. But hey, we have Donald Trump in Power so let's wait and see Anyways my source is the fact that I'm Muslim and grew up in Lebanon and lived in the Middle East for a bit. I have two sisters and a mother who have never gotten beat and don't wear hijab but consider themselves Muslim. Go figure.

But like I said, no problem if there is a ban on all kinds of masks..

It disrespects women and gives men the right to oppress them. Every woman I know wears it on her own accord. Men from my family (fairly conservative Muslims) don't like them wearing them either, so it would be a bit backwards. But that's the UAE, and the social dynamics in other countries are more rigid. The veil isn't a symbol of oppression anymore, it's becoming a symbol of empowerment for a lot of women (in more progressive Muslim groups ofc). On topic this is a good thing, but for security reasons. Although it would be delusional to say security is the only agenda

Like seriously this reply alone should be its own thread, so some people can understand their view on Islam is as archaic and backwards as the version of Islam they think they know.
