I would be furious 'Something like this' um they're humans? It's not like you say hello to every single person on the street, I literally say hello to no one, so why would I care if their face is covered? I care because it's such a contrast. You can't be diverse in this piece of hundreds of years of oppression. It disrespects women and gives men the right to oppress them. Are you a woman? No. Who are you to tell women what they should and should not wear? What about single women who choose to wear it? The fact you'd feel "furious" to see one pass by, just shows your intolerance and xenophobia. No one is forcing you or women in your life to wear it. It's simply not your business. Well from what I've been told by my muslim friends for many women they choose to do it , maybe there's a difference between muslims living in the West, and those living in predominantly muslim countries, but I've never seen the big deal

Omar Vela 2,745
I can understan if they ban the use of it in banks, public places and government buildings. Covering a full women's body because of your religion it's already a couple hundred years back It's funny how "progressive" people defend this kind of things, neither Islam or Catholicism are progressive religions nor "religions of peace". Blade 5,603
My country I don't really know how to take this. On one hand I say, let the people wear whatever they want as long as it's not offending. On the other hand, I feel like women shouldn't (have to) wear burqas. It's a big deal for women because they choose to wear something that USUALLY oppresses them and I have no idea why supporting it would be a good idea. How does it oppress them if they've made the decision to wear it though? The only people who seem to be talking about 'oppression' are people who've never worn it before in their lives
