Now, if ever there was a video that should have just followed the lyrics, this was it. This is not a song that could be interpreted in any other way and yet he still decides to go down a different interpretive route. The only really good bit was when it followed the lyrics about the first date and kissing in a taxi because it matched well and was cute. But the first half was boring with nothing happening and the finale was just ridiculous and had nothing to do with the song. One good bit in the middle doesn't make up for the sub-par areas surrounding it. Honestly, what's so hard about making a dance video in a club? This song's crying out for that. I don't buy him as a boxer. Ed's trying too hard to get a sexy bad boy persona - it doesn't suit him. He's got the image of an ordinary nice guy with a moptop riot of hair. That's how he won female fans. He's better off just owning that.

I thought the same thing when I heard the song as well. A lot of us called The Chainsmoker's Closer the f**kboy anthem of the year. I think this one's going to take the 2017 crown. I wouldn't mind it so much if it came from somebody with a more believable image, though. I believe that The Chainsmokers are banging anything that moves, they've outright said that they got into this business so that getting with girls could be easy. But Ed? He's supposed to be the considerate boyfriend who's looking for love or at least some kind of deeper connection than just sex, as expressed in previous songs. So, him singing about dates like they happen to him all the time and that he's in love with a girl's body just isn't coming across believable. He apparently has been with a few girls on the downlow, though - he was with Ellie Goulding, Nina Nesbitt, some non-famous ones whose names we don't know. He was even rumoured to have tried it on with Taylor, even though they never actually dated. Rita Ora said not to underestimate him because he's got game. And coming from her...suffice to say, I believe her. But it's certainly not the image he puts out there. Sure, he says "my heart is falling too" but that's immediately undercut by the repeated "but I'm in love with your body."

I didn't know Ed was so colourful  I liked it but then it seemed kinda out of the blue and jokey towards the end which kinda went a step down, before that the narrative was going pretty well and nicely
