It's not bad to miss the old Lady Gaga!

I honestly just miss her visuals. There is a way to pull simplicity and make it beautiful and interesting.

The music is on point though.

Then I'm honestly glad she's over it now, yeah sure it's great to be on top but don't build your music solely for that purpose

I don't think she built and created the music for that purpose, she took what she had created and treated it in a way that took her to the top: something I believe she would be able to do now if she wanted to.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

Nothing wrong with missing the old Gaga at all, I miss the 'old lady gaga' with the theatrics, the avant garde fashion, the visual performances, the ARTPOP/Pop-Art conceptual videos.
I miss her mixture of technology, music, art and performance during The Fame
I miss her epic videos from The Fame Monster
I miss the intense choreography and the bizarre, queer political alien from Born This Way
I miss her bizarre art collabs with Marina Abramovic and Robert Wilson from ARTPOP.

That doesn't mean I don't like Joanne, it's probably my favourite album musically, although not necessarily my favourite 'era'. But I miss that side of her for sure  I'm sure we'll see some of that seep through into her work in the future - but there is elements of each era that I miss.

In the future, when she has changed again, I'll probably be missing parts of this era. I'll be missing this Gaga with her unedited vocals and one takes, her Americana sound and so on.

Of course it isn't wrong.

Missing the persona and style of your favorite artist that has been with you for years and suddenly did a huge 360, is completely understandable. She definitely isn't the same person anymore, at least as a pop star. It may be because of past issues or whatever but it doesn't make it less true.

The little Joannesters mostly just attack you because deep down they feel the same too but don't wanna admit it, so they attack others with that same opinion. It's like a coping mechanism really.

Please correct me if I make any grammar mistakes, I want to master English as much as possible.

that's really wise of you to say actually and i agree. i'm not really mad she's changed so drastically, more saddened by it because i feel like she went through a lot of hardships that made her who she is now...but also for the content and material she used to produce lololol

In fact, her most acclaimed albums (The Fame and The Fame Monster) had the most mainstream sound.

They weren't mainstream at the time. They seem mainstream now retroactively, but only because everybody tried to copy her trend and oversaturate the market

. She's not going to make dance music like Just Dance and Poker Face again because that is the sound of 2009 its just not around anymore that sound has gone from the whole industry.

You're missing the point because I dont think they want the 2009 sound... They want her to have a "new" innovative  (maybe modern) sound that we/people listen to nowadays, like just dance and poker did back in 2009 when everybody would loose their **** listening to them.

Joanne is different, but its different in the sense to what radio plays and to what people listen to nowadays, not that its a new/different sound

I love listening to Joanne tho, but the genre its not everyone's cup of tea

REALITY

I feel like you're missing or misinterpreting the point, though. Trust me, I miss the "Old Gaga" and sometimes I do wish that she'd just wear those eclectic and crazy outfits and sing those dance-pop songs again, but I'm glad that she's evolving and changing as an artist.

You guys have to remember one thing, and quite frankly, I don't understand why some of you haven't understood it yet. Gaga's a forever changing artist. She will never "fit the mold" and she'll never stay the same. It's just who Gaga is. When she releases LG6, it may be completely different from Joanne, and that's okay.

You have to learn that she's going to move on from different things and forever change as an artist. That's one of the reasons why we love her so much, she's a chameleon in the industry and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's not bad to want her back either, maybe she'll get back a fraction of her relevance if she does make a comeback
