It's not bad to miss the old Lady Gaga!

Let's face it, we all loved her because she was a popstar and she knew the game, and she clearly had so much love for the art and craft of pop music and pop culture in general. She loved pop songs like Stars Are Blind, she knew the way a pop song should be structured, she knew the aesthetics that went along with being a popstar, she had it DOWN PACKED. And it's not bad to miss that about her, it's not bad to miss her dance music. Stop shaming the fans who do! However if she isn't your cup of tea anymore and you aren't emotionally invested like I and several others, then you should be dragged.

I adore Joanne however. Just a PSA! It's 6 AM and I'm bored.

i agree i mean its clear she ain't going back to that, it's clear she feels like the pop industry chewed her up and spit her out and i feel for her and sympathize, but we're all low key pressed because she really was pop perfection in every sense. she's still an amazing person now....the gma video i saw of her giving gifts to kids in the charity thing or whatever, warmed my cold heart + joanne is pretty solid though it got old quick for me, i can still bop to several songs

Joanne is a great pop album, if she didn't try and delve into a few other genres also she would be criticized for going backwards as an artist. She's not going to make dance music like Just Dance and Poker Face again because that is the sound of 2009 its just not around anymore that sound has gone from the whole industry. Joanne is something completely different and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree. I don't have problem with her experimenting with genres, she's been doing that since BTW. But, where's the fearless girl who knew what she wanted and who was unstoppable and unbeatable? She seems really fragile lately.

Would she tho?

She experimented with genres on Joanne and the album was still not critically acclaimed. In fact, her most acclaimed albums (The Fame and The Fame Monster) had the most mainstream sound.

It's not bad it just the fact that some people using it as an excuse to bashing Gaga and the hater acting like they're fan and roaming all over facebook and say "Gaga should copy Madonna again i miss the old CopyGa" "i'm Lady "GaGa"" fan but she couldnt beat KP now " etc

babe she's not fragile she's just getting older and wiser lol she isn't some young pretty thing anymore idk i dont meant that in an ageist way but as you get older you mature, you settle down, you become more at peace with yourself and stop fighting so hard to prove things to others that my not really matter at the end of the day

she still is very passionate about things though like charity and politics and making genuine music now so im not sure what you're referring to

I don't think she necessarily ever wanted to be unbeatable? And if she did I'm glad she's over it now, it's kind of a pathetic reason to push yourself imo

well yeah those comments are usually overdramatized but don't take em seriously lol it's all in good fun, gaga was influenced heavily by madonna though it's so weird i'll listen to some random madonnas song and hear something gaga has similarly said in her own song and im just like wait what lmao

"Who wants to be second" and other comments? She wanted to be on top and she lost this passion, it's quite clear.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

i really wouldn't consider joanne a pop album but it is pretty cohesive and solid but a bit underwhelming. anywho i don't think anyone is specifically asking her to go back to the just dance-poker face sound, because the fame really didn't age too well bc as you said that was the sound of 2009. the fans just want her to make dance pop/pop music in general and surely she could have transitioned with the different pop sounds through the years just fine since she never had a problem making music that at the time sounded very current and amazing (mins ARTPOP)

Then I'm honestly glad she's over it now, yeah sure it's great to be on top but don't build your music solely for that purpose (or even effect it slightly)
