Ricardo 7,900
No as far I understand the SB committee select one artist to perform, sponsors (like Pepsi) pay for the show but not Gaga, I think Gaga doesn't get paid for it either
NewUsername 11,483
I doubt she could offer them the amount of money that would be needed for them to choose her if they weren't interested in her. So without a doubt they chose her because they see a good fit in her!

Panchecco 17,705
No Spoiler but I actually think that the artists who want to perform go to the NFL with a budget/a general plan with what they want to do and how much they want to spend on the performance... NFL then considers everything also keeping in mind popularity and how "they can sell" the performance I think they were so overwhelmed with her performance of the National Anthem that they asked her to be the performer (they knew she had an album coming and she is a big name so )

Brie Candy 18,642
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...ture-lady-gaga In the past, the NFL reportedly had sought to have the halftime performers pay for the right to play at the Super Bowl given its extreme value. To date, that hasn't happened. An NFL spokesperson told ESPN on Thursday that Lady Gaga did not pay the league to perform, nor did the league pay Gaga.A spokesperson for Pepsi told ESPN that the company, which again is sponsoring the halftime show, says it didn't pay Gaga either or specifically pay the NFL for her performance, on her behalf. bitchimtrying 2,495
The NFL and Pepsi are massive companies, what would they need a lousy $6 mil for? They probably spend that much on advertising per day. They probably shopped around five or six artists, asked if they were coming out with new music, looked at previous live TV performances and watched their concerts and chose the one that they thought would be most entertaining and relevant. And just because Adele said no, doesn't mean that she was their first pick, she might have been just one of the five that they pre-asked, like gave a head up.
