Do You Think Expectations Are Lower This Time? If So, Is That A Good Thing?

The fanbase doesn't seem as over-hyped as we tend to get, specifically I don't even see people getting as hyped as they were for the Bowie tribute. Do you think if we have lower expectations overall that we have a better chance to enjoy it? I love Joanne but I also haven't been getting excited over anything this era, and I'm not really hyped yet for the Superbowl, which I feel will make me actually just sit back and enjoy it instead of waiting for that BAM! moment that I used to.

Well, seems like they are waaaaaaay lower for everyone after the ARTPOP betrayals and the Joanne sound/Million Reasons video mess, for me they are at the very bottom, tbh.

If anything, I think some peoples' expectations are too high. I've even seen some people say that they'll "unstan if she doesn't perform 'x' song at the SB". Things like that are completely ridiculous.

Personally, I'm as hyped as ever about the SB and for the overall future of this era and her career. 

Also, let's just mention the elephant in the room. A lot of why people may not seem as excited this time is because of the MR video. People expected more, and they didn't get that.

I saw her perform her biggest hits millions of times before, so I am not that excited. Like...wow, yet another Bad Romance performance. Definitely didn't see that one before! So it's like whatever I'm not hyped but it would be nice if it helped her commercially

That's true, and maybe the lack of promo and performances have made it feel stagnant, but maybe the Superbowl and what comes afterwards will reignite everything for me
