So how did you feel with conservatives and republicans fought and protested and read Hop on Pop on people's paid time just to say that Obama wasn't "their president" either?

Who protested his inauguration? Show me one person.

If they did that, they are interfering with democracy.

What does it symbolize?

They're literally saying they won't acknowledge his authority and seeking to directly disrupt the transfer of power.

Obviously these people are in favor of mob rule, not democracy. If we don't get our way, throw a hissy fit.

It's symbolizing that his positions, policies and values don't represent them. They stand against him and his agenda.

Republicans getting a taste of their own medicine.

Delicious.

Now they want us to play nice.

Play nice? Nobody expects that from these punks.

The videos speak for themselves. Don't pretend you've seen one iota of this behavior from the other side.

I was referring to the overall rhetoric from the right for the last 8 years.

Protests are only part of it.

Literally google it.

And furthermore, peaceful protest is literally a fundamental prospect of American democracy. This country was founded on people protesting rule they deemed unfair.

And do you not remember the infamous filibuster that Ted Cruz took part in when he stalled a vote in congress by reading Dr. Seuss. And I repeat, this occurred on paid time by taxpayers. And yet you have an issue with protesting?

Oh and my last quote before you block me, a lot of the people protesting aren't just democrats. There are even moderates and some conservatives taking part because they don't like Trump or the prospect of his presidency. Get ready for a bumpy four years.

Block you for what? The point about Ted Cruz? He probably voted for Hillary along with the Bush regime.

Fire always seems like a bit much and people shouldn't be throwing empty plastic bottles at anyone :smh:

With that said, I'm glad people are protesting :applause: There is nothing wrong, at all, with protesters. There is nothing wrong with protesters reminding the establishment that the majority of voters didn't vote for Trump, nothing wrong with them standing up to a man who is attacking news organisations, nothing wrong with them standing up against an empowered neo-nazi 'alt right'.

For the record, there would have been nothing wrong with people taking to the streets if Hillary had won.

I don't understand how anybody can be against protests, people should be as politically active as possible, they should continuously express their discontent with the status quo, they should constantly put pressure on those in power to obey the will of the people, they should constantly make their voices heard. Protesting shouldn't be something people shake their fingers at, it's a sign of a well functioning democracy and free society - It's those that don't want you to protest, those that demonise protesters as trouble makers that you should be wary of.

The left spent month after month watching 'the other side' behave like violent 'punks' throughout an entire election campaign

im completely against this. I'm glad people are expressing their opinions but these are just riots and detrimental to society in every way which won't help in any way. You can say hes not your president all you want but he will be no matter you like it or not. We should not be protesting now, but work for a better tomorrow.

You should always protest for what you believe in. Riots are bad, protests are not.
