I cried when I watched this today

I'm sorry but Donald Trump is president, people in Flint, Michigan still don't have clean water, there is a civil war in Syria where children are begging to die....and you cried because of a nearly decade old video of a woman who is 30 years old and making music she loves and is passionate about, whose newest album despite being a (slight) change in sound debuted at #1 and who has landed the biggest stage in the world for her next performance....and....what exactly? She no longer repeats remixed Warhol quotes for the interludes on her tours? The "fire" is gone? Anyone who watched the Victoria Secret Fashion Show can tell you that last statement is a ludicrous joke.

I came of age listening to The Fame Monster and Born This Way, I attended the Monster Ball twice, I've been fan since 2008. Hell, I even hate the Million Reasons video. But get a ****ing grip. People change, mature, and grow. She's still walking around in absurdly high heels, singing pitch perfectly, doing choreographed dance routines. Her hair is even the same ****ing shade of blonde. Joanne is not a brief diversion. It's an evolution. Her next album will be another step in that direction - and probably a step further away from her past work. If whiny teenage stans wanna "burn their stan cards", go ahead and do it - Gaga will be laughing all the way to her next multi million dollar stadium tour, where I'll will be loving every minute of it, getting my life to "John Wayne" and "A-Yo" and "Come to ****ing Mama"....which slays, by the way.

Celebrate what she was to you then and enjoy that you can continue to re-live it.  At some point you have to let go of the past so that you can approach Gaga's current work with an open mind, or find someone else to fill the void if she doesn't do it for you anymore.  Continuously wallowing in the past is not healthy.
