You can't say it sold 500k but if those were only fans it doesn't count. If you were right and I was wrong, you'd hear Joanne songs on the radio lmao. But obviously you don't, which proves my point. Gaga's relevance has hit an all time low. At least you heard ARTPOP songs on the radio Hopefully the super bowl will save her career because it honestly can't get much lower. She so irrelevant that she can go to starbucks in PUBLIC and not be recognized or swarmed

BuzzcutSeason 3,307
Its rude to say but she technically did in the aspect of a pop-music Top 40 station cause of singles and where its main audience is (which isnt streaming at all). Thats like all they look at really.

This^ I don't think anyone expect Gaga to release a mediocre (half) country album with not a single hit People expect Gaga to go back to her hit single Redone hits because she led us to believe she was working with him When people realized what Joanne was, she lost a lot of attention and Little Monster support Nobody (outside of this fanbase) even wants Joanne songs to be played at the super bowl LOL, and still half of LM on this site want her to only perform one or no Joanne songs
RochestrMonstr 3,198
Well I guess she should feel lucky then. If she's a flop, then it's pretty awesome that she gets to perform at the Super Bowl! Some formerly successful flop stars, upon asking to perform at the super bowl, would be laughed off the phone. Assuming there's a phone call involved, that is. Queen of being a flop and getting the biggest performance of the year!

And very true. Sometimes I wonder if she thought she would get a hit out of any of these mediocre country inspired mid tempo songs?!

alejandreaux 1,053
this really isn't shade though because they literally only stated facts lol. the part where they said she cant tour anymore because of Joanne is a huge reach however (Beyonce went on a successful tour during her '4' era even though her singles during the era flopped) but other than that.... the weird thing i find about this era is that there's a lot of good things you can mention about Joanne's success, like having the second highest female debut of 2016, selling faster than nearly every pop girls album (over 700k WW after 7 weeks), securing a Super Bowl performance during the era, being the first and only female with 4 #1 albums this decade, etc but then there's a lot of tragic things you can mention about it too, like her streaming figures, lack of hits, tragic YouTube views, barely any radio airplay, comparison to the sales of her previous eras, etc i just hope that its clear to the public she really just did whatever tf she wanted with her music this era and her musical tastes arent always gonna fall in line with whats considered "trendy" to teenagers these days, but in the end she still maintained a good level of success and relevance that will allow her to still be considered an A-List entertainer that people will always be interested and entertained by

You're kidding yourself if you think she got the SB for any other reason than she did well with the national anthem last year. the Black Eyed Peas and Usher were actually considered relevant artists at the time and had current hits on the charts when they did their shows lol... i dont know where you live but in America they were huge. And when they give it to artists that are currently "irrelevant" on the charts its because they have achieved "legendary" status in some form and they are respected by tons of people. so what does that say about Gaga? she hasnt had hits recently but still they went out of their way to get her to do it and technically Beyonce didnt have a hit since Telephone in 2010 when she did her show in 2013 and the GP never for one second considered her "irrelavant", they just assumed she was doing her own thing for a couple of years idk... Coldplay didnt have an actual smash hit in 8 whole years when they did their show, and no one complained....

None of the mid-tempo ones have really been a single so I don't think she really anticipated they would be hits. She and her team must have known this type of album might not catch on as far as radio though. She mentioned herself that wasn't the focus. I'm sure they could have tried make it more radio friendly to increase the chance of a hit if that's what she wanted to do.

They said how Joanne went #1 and how she was the first female to have 4 #1 albums this decade, but then said how sales dropped 70% in the second week and how PI flopped. Then they said how her streaming power is weak and that some song called monster mash up or something out streamed every song from the album. Finally they said she shouldn't tour cause her old hits might not be enough to fill stadiums since there are no hits off Joanne. Then they called Joanne a flop. What do you think? I'm not really mad cause i see no lies but we don't need the radios to recreate flopga 2013 again Edit: I forgot to mention they said the only reason it went #1 cause it was on amazon for like $3.99 or something Let's talk after the tour and in the mean time..."Stay tuned"
