Paris Jackson, the daughter of Michael Jackson, is now 18 years old and states that she is a model and actress. Furthermore, she is into songwriting  and could potentially be the next be female pop star if she took interest in it.

She has grown into a beautiful girl and with the Jackson name attached to her the public would certainly be interested.

So should she become the next big pop girl?

if she has the talent why not? she has the look too, so come through paris :lana:

i know she totally looks like she wouldn't be a generic pop girl like the recent ones we've had.

She's got a certain Lady Gaganess to her

No

the industry will eat her up

mostly because of her name

she will be brought up at the speed of light as "MJ's daughter" and torn apart 3 years later

If she has talent, passion, creativity and brings something interesting then sure.

Although I must admit there is something uncomfortable to me about the thought of her entering the music business.

There is something that just feels exploitative about the whole thing. Like, Michael Jackson was reportedly physically abused as a child and forced to become this performing child to make money for the family, he spent his whole life in the spotlight facing very public battles, earning over a billion dollars for Sony while dying $500 million in debt. Then his daughter gets a record deal, no doubt in part due to her name, and gets churned through the same music industry that wants to make a quick buck of her because her last name is 'Jackson'.

If she feels like she's strong enough, why not. But she does have a bipolar disorder, and it's not easy having to deal with that when you have to promote and keep a high-key, public lifestyle to remain relevant. It's not easy to do.

Can't believe she's bleaching her beautiful brunette hair and giving it that hideous cut!

OT: If she ever wants to go for it, I'd fully support her! The King of Pop's daughter :flutter:

Though there's some totally legitimate concerns being expressed above

She'd have as much success in the pop game as Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. I just want her to be who she is and live the life she wants to live, not the one that people expect of her :madge:
