Why should we care? Why should people stop recording songs like this because they're not in line with your taste in music? 'Tropical house' is just as legitimate and valuable as any other music genre, stop saying it isn't just because it isn't your taste. I agree with you. People like what they like, and there's nothing wrong with people liking tropical house. I just don't like it myself. I also think it's a fad, but there's nothing wrong with that either. I don't imagine people will listen to those tropical house songs in 10 years time. It's just a temporary reaction against catchy melodies, i.e. it's a reaction against the kind of music Lady Gaga and Max Martin are good at making. Eventually people will want more melody in their songs again.
Farron 257
This is the first time I listened to that Maroon 5 song. It really does sound like they tried to straight up copy Cheap Thrills, I'm laughing. superhuman
Maleficent 6
This is why I only listen to CBC Radio 2, which plays mainly classical and 1970-80s music...

I don't understand the hate towards DYNS. Basically it has the same rhythm and it's the same style like DIC. If Gaga sang it it would be praised. I want the funk trend that started in 2016 to become more prominent in 2017. I want Disco to have a revival. And I want rock to become popular again. YES PLEASE!!! hELXIG 43,065
Gurl this is pop music. It rarely ever has any substance. It's almost always generic and following trends Gaga has been one of the only few artists to regularly put out meaningful music. And Cheap Thrills does have a deeper meaning behind it. Trends come and go in pop music. Enjoy these frivolous bops while they're around and something else will take it's place soon. Also... are you a DIC hater...? I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
Mitch XCX 1,039
I just want the whole "I dont need you"/"savage"/"petty" vibe in music to be left in 2016 that surrounds mainly female singers e.g. Beyonce, Rihanna etc.
River 117,180
And featuring Kendrick, Sean Paul and Nicki needs to stop. they add nothing to the songs.. Why the hell Kendrick is in The Greatest and the Maroon 5 songs? Sean Paul is only making weird noises and saying things that even him himself can't understand Nicki is just there to mumble some gangsta lyrics I'm the bad bitch blah blah my ass is big and for the soft p-rn videos.. like she prostituted Ariana for example.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
Jenniferella 2,774
I just came here to say I'm astonished by this shitty and endless music trend that went because Lean On by Major Lazer and Dj Snake. It's sickening how many copycat songs were released since then ! "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"
C1trus 4,341
Gaga already started a music trend: Analogue music. EDM should stop now 'cause it's literally everywhere. I hope music industry will give priority to music geniuses where they release songs that you can enjoy in the long run, not just releasing hits that are future trashes. ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs
Guest
Long is gone the day where artist made music for the love of it, when money gets into it, everything gets boring, cause erbody tries to do something trendy to get the cash flow. That's why I respect those new artists like Gaga, Lana Del Rey, who come up with their own motherfcking sound and not worry about what he or she's doing, or what's hot right now. That type of thinking is wack and weak imo

Blonde was terrible, Lemonade very average so I don't know what's your general taste and art can't be judged anyways but to me this ain't shitt though

gagzus 15,930
I personally love all the House music trends, House is a great genre there's an incoming 90s influenced revival on the horizon tbh, the trend that's coming in now is Deep House mixed with R&B 808s and I'm honestly living for it.
