Guest ARTPOPSlays
Because I feel like it's not. We all talk about how the "original" LG5 (if there is one) was going to be this huge disco pop infusion with countless bops. But, how do we know that it wasn't going to be similar to what we have now. From the begining of 2015 when she started talking it about it, she said right then and there that the album was basically her as a cadaver, and that she was operating on her old self. So how do we actually know that it would've been what we all think it is? By the way, I'm totally rooting for her to do a disco album!
Bloody Matt 5,206
An "original LG5" never existed. There were just songs that didn't make the cut, something that happens with every album on earth. Monsters just like to dramatize everything with Gaga scrapping things. Bayonetta 9,844
Cause RedOne said he worked on a ton of songs with Gags and said they were grammy worthy (not to say the ones on Joanne aren't). But seeing as RedOne specialises in pop it wouldn't of been anything like Joanne. Glad she took a different direction tbh, love Joanne with all my heart. But I would still like to hear these supposed songs eventually

I don't think there was an original LG5, I just think we're all paranoid
HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
I feel like it was going to be full of electronic ballads, like Princess Die but EDM. With some disco influences of course. (I'm assuming this because she was going to work with Giorgio, and her one song with RedOne on the album was a ballad, and because he said "Grammy worthy" I'd feel like that leans more torwards meaningful ballads). One, five, ten lay a million on me

Caesium 6,022
There may not be a full album, but there's definitely a lot of leftover tracks that were destined for LG5 before she met Mark in December 2015 But like Act II, they will remain under lock and key until time itself folds in on itself Put your white tennis shoes on and follow me

Panchecco 17,399
I think I Want Your Love was really the sound she was trying to have for her original idea of LG5 but then she wasn't able to work with Giorgio/Nile so she called the good old sis RedOne but in 2016 she scrapped RedOne's tracks and started working with Ronson and decided to commit with that genre + country influences... so maybe the first LG5 didn't really commit to a genre.... it was just a bunch of different songs without a "common theme" (?) Joanne instead I feel has its own vibe/genre/theme

Adding: She worked with Ronson the first time in November and worked with RedOne until September/October. This means Ronson was going to be a "feat." or only the producer of a few songs, but then Questlove pushed her to create some toned down songs and the work with Ronson was so fascinating for her that she decided to work with him for the complete album and then picked the most toned down song from RedOne's collection to be a good sport and not f-xk RedOne over. monketsharona 50,927
We actually know she worked with a huge bunch of producers in 2015 (RedOne, DJWS, Diane, Nile, Moroder, Elton and probably more) and all were scrapped once she went in studio with Mark and his friends in 2016. At teh very end of 2015, she posted a pic mixing tracks with RedOne and Diane confirmed she was involved in the album. So yeah she had another album planned that was cancelled when she made Joanne with Mark and the others. I remember when she talked about being inspired by the darkness and AHS for her album. None of those influences are on Joanne actually. Or thoses teases with the caterpillar / butterfly all along 2015. She definitely had another album planned to be released. I wouldn't be surprised if it was planned for Grammys 2016 with the Intel collab before doing the Bowie Tribute.

I wonder what her original plan could have been... release the first single at the Grammys but still release the album at the end of the year? Although I feel like the Intel performance was never intended to be an actual "first single performance" but just a tease of the vibe of LG5... without the actual release of a single after the Grammys... EDIT: in fact it wasn't... it was stated very early before Bowie's death that "Lady Gaga will not perform new material as part of the program, she promises to deliver an experience not to be forgotten" (http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160105006907/en/Intel-Brings-Amazing-Experiences-Life-Consumer-Electronics)
