**** happens truly but what is the real deal..??
Why she stopped singing during Emotions while she can sing even if the earpiece issue was there..

I just feel sad for her seeing all the bashes she has received all the way.. but I just don't understand what really happens..

Why she does not just lip the whole thing

The final death of 2016

Mariah Carey's career

How is her career over? Sure this was a tad bit embarrassing but it's not going to effect her entire legacy and ticket sales. People will forget about this in like 3 weeks. I went to her christmas show two weeks ago and she sang live and can still annihilate many pop girls today in a vocal battle. People will still pay to see her because she's thee Mariah Carey. Many mainstream artists wish they could have a career with longevity like Mariah's.

What she DID sing of Emotions actually sounded good... she could have gone the "lazy singing" way and just sung the verses and easier parts and posed for the difficult ones...you know...diva singing. IDK why she just gave up altogether. I guess she wasn't prepared for it mentally.

Well, **** happens indeed.

She'll be fine. That was still fun though. :D

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Okay, at the end of the day everyone has to agree, the most professional thing to do would've been to keep her cool, try her best to sing anyway, act like she was having a great time, and then tweet and instagram immediately afterwards backstage something like "we had technical difficulties, couldn't hear myself or the music, but you've still gotta try your best in these situations! Happy New Year!"

Or she could've even addressed it right there on stage in the mic, to everyone watching, and dealt with it immediately.

News sources would've spread the word and everyone would've forgiven her instantly.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

There's a difference between slipping and falling and your entire performance being a disaster in front of millions of people. Obviously she wasn't going to have the ability to "act professional" and "pretend she's enjoying it," she's a human being not a robot

Gaga Monster

Unproffesional. Gaga, Beyonce, or anyone else would handle it much better and not make a fool of herself. She's not a true performer

I'm sorry but that was so unprofessional even though she is a known diva. If anything, she should have had the power to carry on from one of her hits, and she was also lip syncing during emotions (earpiece was behind) and talking while the prerecorded whistle notes :sis: were playing.

If anything, remember that Gaga can perform even during electrical outages with fans clapping and her voice.

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

A lot of misconception is going around in this thread. Performers need the in-ear monitor to hear the music, the speakers are always pointed away from the singer toward the crowd so the sound it distorted for anyone on stage. Mariah couldn't have attempted to sing without her ear piece because it would have been off tempo. Even if her vocals were flawless it would have been messier than what happened last night. Singers need the monitor to hear the music properly and there was a technical issue, not much of the problem was Mariah

But how is nobody talking about her prerecorded whistle tone in Emotions, she clearly is talking over it right as the note ends :cryga:

But, why is the "earpiece" consistently an issue with her? I call BS.
