You won't get that with W&G, sorry. They don't have to change anything, they need to rely on nostalgia.

I know I won't get that.

That's why the series is going to fail.

How long will the nostalgia last? One season? Two?

There is a very limited amount of audience he show will appeal to once the nostalgia factor wheres off. Characters like Jack are considered stereotypes and now mockeries of homosexuals.

Karen will be entertaining, yes, but how long will it be before she is taken down as well?

Honestly, Will and Grace would be boring if it was about Will and Grace, and the two funniest characters are bound to be what puts the show into danger.

I'm just looking at this from a realistic view. The show is a classic, a time piece.

Reviving it will absolutely destroy its status though, as it will reveal things about how LGBT community was at that time, how unwell Jack has aged as a character type, and probably reveal why we don't have many characters who are like Karen anymore in sitcoms.

But I don't think it's their intention to go beyond a first season tho. Only if it's extremely successful. They all still work a lot in the industry, they're doing it for the fans. It's a ****ing sitcom, it's not a drama nor a high brow comedy. The characters are not supposed to be taken down and deconstructed.

For the record, "the sissy" is an archetype that has always existed, particularly in film. From silent film to Mean Girls. It will always exist because "the sissy" is an actuate, if slightly exaggerated for comedic effect, representation of some gay men.

People like Jack McFarland actually exist, and a number of them are on this website.

Karen mocks plutocrats, Grace mocks Jews, Will mocks wasps, and Jack mocks homosexuals. It's social satire, it's comedy.

Bette Davis

I'm so excited :excited2: I used to love watching re-runs with my mom when I was sick at home from school.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

THIS infinitely THIS, it's like Rupaul once said about the complaint of black people in sitcoms of the 90s being stereotypical etc "it's comedy it's meant to be pushed to the nth degree" aka the characters are meant to be characterised and played up for comedy purposes. It's not deep or serious really
