This is disgusting but I'm not gonna lie I laughed at this.

Not because of the insults specifically but because I knew EXACTLY how she'd respond :rip:

No, no

I probably should have been better at understanding what you were saying.

Sorry for the over-defensiveness

Also, stop using "Sia has a career" because she got a career after she sold out :poot:. Still love her tho :poot:

For the record, I'd value the life of one chicken over respecting a backwards religion practicing animal sacrifice, never mind multiple chickens.

Sia had a career long before Chandelier (if that's what you're referring to).

Countless "Breathe Me" in movies and TV shows.

Just because you didn't know her back then, it doesn't mean she had no career.

1. No they wouldn't

2. It's not about race that I was talking about in this quote, it was about RELIGION

3. She has the right to practice her religion as long as she isn't taking someone elses freedom.

1. Yes, they would. If Azealia called someone out for torturing animals, people would be happy that she was speaking out for something positive and would view it as some positive change on her end.

2. Then why did you bring race into it in the first place if you were just trying to make a point about religion? :duck:

3. I agree, but where do you draw the line? I value all life, not just human life. It's animal abuse, whether it's a chicken or any other animal. Would you be okay with her sacrificing a dog? Well that's no different..

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

I don't consider having one song that barely charted and was thrown in a few shows and movies to be a career. Even 212 charted better, and was also in plenty of shows and movies.

I've known of Sia and I do like her, I just don't find it a valid argument. She didn't become famous until her work was more commercialized. Not that it's a bad thing, I find her last two albums to be her best :poot:

tragique, she will never fix her attitude which is why she will never become relevant. what a waste of the talent she's got.

Very surprised by the reactions to this.

As a vegetarian, who eventually wants to be vegan, I heard about Azealia's sacrifices and felt blase. This is how we treat animals  I don't like that this is how we treat animals, but I don't know why everyone is suddenly all about saving the chickens.

This is happening all over the world:

and it's like nobody bats an eyelid.

Why is it that everybody suddenly acts like they give a ****? Why is it that Azealia can be criticised for treating chickens in a completely normal way?

If you are mad about what Azealia is doing great! Make sure you cut chicken out of your diet, become a vegetarian! If you can make it the extra step go vegan! That's what will help the chickens!

Of course Azealia is going to get defensive when some white girl calls her religious beliefs "the wackiest **** i've ever heard". She has talked about how she feels connecting to her ancient African religious beliefs have helped her feel connected to her ancestors, and has argued that many African Americans were forced to become Christians during the period of slavery (absolutely true). Of course Azealia is going to get defensive when there are people who misunderstand her religion and when there is such a stigma (from white and black cultures) around witchcraft.

I'm not saying there isn't room to criticise religious beliefs, especially cruel religious beliefs, but there is a way to do so. Animal sacrifice is still a reality in some sects of the three major religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), animal sacrifice occurs in all three holy books of those major religions.... How so many people can find it 'whacky' that people sacrifice animals for religious purposes is beyond me.

If you believe that this sort of treatment of animals is wrong, they talk about why this treatment of animals is wrong. Talk to people about the actual ethical dilemmas in the way we treat animals, talk about animal suffering. We didn't win the argument for gay marriage in the U.S by converting every Christian and telling them their holy book was wrong - we convinced them that there was nothing wrong with being gay and that they could support us and our fight despite what their holy books say.

Convince Azealia that her actions towards animals are cruel and unethical, you won't change the behaviour of anyone by laughing at their religious beliefs and calling them whacky  In the end both where disrespectful, I love Sia to death but she was in the wrong first. Azealia was rude, but she was also provoked.

sia is vegan, she stands against treating animals this way.

meanwhile you also have to take into consideration that azealia didn't really grow chickens to eat them, she very likely tortured them as a sacrifice for potentially even more malicious reasons. and i think people aren't even primarily mad because of the chickens but because of how ****ed up the whole thing is.

blood sacrifice doesn't really sound like your typical bedtime prayer.

and if you're defending it claiming you can't change ones religious views, well then maybe we should embrace extreme islamism and all of the bs in the christian bible that people pretend isn't written there.
