Is Adele an Icon/Legend?

Well, aside from her voice, she doesnt have that much going for her. She is REALLY lazy with with her music videos, especially the 25. Idk why she is this way? Like why did WWWY not get an official video? I just dont understand. The song deserved much more attention. She will yes one day (probably sooner than later) acheive legend status, but through her voice only. She doesnt have much else in her stardom working for her yet.

She is also Legendary for the way that she carries herself, her work and lives her life exclusively. We never get much of her and when we do, it is a great surprise, meaningful and special. She lives her celebrity like all of the old Legends have. What she does, she does with quality. Stars of today could really scale back and give us something to appreciate, with some time of missing them and not having to know every detail of their lives, body and career. Adele is full of class and grace and her work and tours speak for themselves.

She has a legendary presence, and I think word of mouth about her music is honestly just that powerful to translate into sales, awards, acclaim, etc... Her voice is beautiful and I think its nostalgic and hard-hitting for many people. Her ability to sing with emotion is kind of amazing, and its something lacking in lots of music today. She just has that kind of voice. She's also incredibly beautiful and personable. I honestly think shes kind of a modern day Mona Lisa in the looks department  In this regard, I do think she is kind of a legend, albeit a quiet one.

But, her music is not all that "legendary" based on its actual qualities. It's quite similar topically and sonically. Also, she is a good singer, but shes not a better technical singer than many singers of lesser repute. Other than her sales, I also don't think she has done very much that is "legendary" or substantial.

Like, people will definitely remember her long from now, but I'm not sure they will see her as "up there with the greats"

I'm not sure what she could do to get to that status, but I'd say she's currently a provisional legend, pending approval

She's talented, she has a good voice and great lyrics, but she is probably the most overrated artist over there, her music is not that awesome as people claim it to be, basically she has released the same album 3 times in a row and people still eat it because she is not the skinny perfect girl of the pop industry.

after 25 being exactly the same as 21 and 19 I can see her career having her peak this year and falling down in the next couple of years unless she takes another big break so people can forget why she was so overrated at first

I love her, I really do, but people act like her voice, lyrics and music are above the rest when it's actually as good as the rest but not soooooooooo superior

I'm glad she's successful, cause she's talented, and without her, the most successful female artist over there this decade would be Taylor Swift, and I couldn't live in a world like that

Of course she's an icon.. the delusion in this thread 

Whether you like her or not, her album sales are unbelievable and for every excuse that "nobody is buying albums anymore," Adele comes and gives an exception 

Everyone knows who she is, and everyone can relate to some of her songs. She's known for her ballads.

i think she might be. she's a really good songwriter (better than most) and her voice is impressive too.
