why would she change anything when it's clearly working for her

I don't think she should anything. Her career will probably reach a new peak :golfclap: But I still think she could have chosen another route... She reminds me of a young Lily Allen. I think shhe had the potential to be an artist with a message. I hope that makes some sense.

The 'old Katy' that I prefer is her middle era. I think Teenage Dream was her best. I find her early rock orientated stuff to be quite bland and forgettable and Prism was just too childish and basic. Her best tracks for me tend to be the pure pop stuff that's made for older teens and adults (Last Friday Night, Teenage Dream, Hummingbird Heartbeat, among others) but I don't like when she makes pop that's too kid-orientated (Roar, Birthday, This Moment). I much prefer her complex lyrics, not generic, basic lines that a child could remember as it's so simple. Unlike a lot of people, I think her ballads need serious work. The One That Got Away was her peak, along with Pearl and Not Like The Movies but every other ballad I can take or leave. The ones on her debut are particularly forgettable.

She could well be going back to the style of her debut if the early snippets are to be believed. But if she is, she needs more oomph, that's for sure. The real-ness of her debut mixed with the pizzazz of TD would be ideal. But I couldn't stand another Prism. It was like she wanted to create another TD but decided to play it even safer and make it truly child appropriate.

Seems like i am one of the few ones who prefer TD and PRISM over her older music.

Legendary Lovers, The One That Got Away, Walking On Air ... if i would have to name three.

Prismatic

The old Katy where she was lowkey homophobic, trouble, and unwoke? No thanks. I love this new Katy. Woke, caring and fighting for what is right.

You mean her Christian sound ? :awkney: No shade though, but she's had the same image and sound since her debut. She has followed trends and her team has not experimented with what she can do outside of ET and Dark Horse.

YES

Thinking of You >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Teenage Dream + PRISM + Taylor Swift's career. Her best song, by far. I was such a stan during OOTB, which is her best album to date...hope one day she'll come back to this
