Born This Way

That was a cohesive era that gave us great fashion, music, performances, theatrics and everything in between. Everything went along with the music and the era was just pretty damn massive. Her last most organised era tbh

In terms of everything falling into place, I'm going with Born This Way.

There's never been anything like it since, in terms of lyrical and thematic content, sound, and performance. It's an incredibly obnoxious piece of work, but it works.

The concept of ARTPOP is really her most creative, it's just the execution was terrible, so it looked more messy than creative :madge:

I agree x1000. There are these little nuances in all these little details, within the album itself and also in its complementary aesthetic and performances, that indicates a lot of thought going into almost every little thing. Like, the whole body was probably meticulously planned, not just in album content but also in promotion and projection of the work. It just fell through big time.

To quote one of my favorite sayings:

The best laid plans of mice and men often go ARTPOP.

I voted for Born This Way but here comes the creative peaks of ARTPOP:

Greek gods

Deconstructed Pop Art

The Planets

Enigma Pop Star

Neoclassic Glamour

holy scheisse

while ARTPOP is so cohesive and i love how it feels like she tells a story with the album,

born this way wins cause every song is a new journey yet its all tied together somehow with a wide range of themes distributed throughout the tracklist and an 80s pop, rock, gothic, electronic sound tying it all together . it was the most political and also the most abstract/experimental in her discography with songs like scheisse, bloody mary, government hooker, black jesus, and heavy metal lover. such powerful imagery. its like the kingdom that the fame monster opened the doors to.

If you didn't know already:

1. “Bad Romance”- Fear of Love

2. “Alejandro”- Fear of Sex

3. “Monster”- Fear of Attachment

4. “Speechless”- Fear of Death

5. “Dance In The Dark”- Fear of Self

6. “Telephone”- Fear of Suffocation

7. “So Happy I Could Die”- Fear of Addiction

8. “Teeth”- Fear of Truth

For me, one of the most important aspects of creativity is having a well thought-out, cohesive concept and I feel like TFM did that best. Whether or not people buy it, her fears were the inspiration for the album and I think it was quite clever to designate a fear to each song. At the time of its release, it sounded very fresh, innovative, daring and avant-garde, especially compared to what was on the radio a year prior. I think lyrically it's just as creative as the rest of her music.

Yes, I know. But I dont thind Teeth or Telephone deliver that concept at all.   Thats 2/8. 25% of the album. "Her inspiration for the album "? Well the inspiration & concept for ARTPOP was brilliant.. but it didnt translate fully as well. Musically Gaga's most creative sound is Joanne because she barely followed any trends. Conceptually AR TPOP; trapped artist breaking out. Lyrically BTW becuz MTN TEOG TQ enough said. Seriously we all love TFM and think its her most enjoyable but can we call a spade a spade? It WAS  very commercial.  We have to stop being so delusional and get TFM off that calibar. Jeez.

I love the Fame Monster. I think it's clean and interesting. ARTPOP is so creative that it's sloppy, BTW is creative in a cheesy way.

Like Bad Romance, if we're historicizing properly, altered the pop landscape. Alejandro, Telephone, both wonderful. Also-- So Happy I Could Die-- the way that song opens ?? "I love that Lavender Blonde ... I touch myself and it's alright" I DIE everytime
