One major difference between Joanne and Bedtime Stories is that R&B was huge during the BS era and the music fit great, but pop-rock has pretty much no impact on Top 40 right now, with Joanne.

My point is, MR has much more potential than GMAYL and you shouldn't compare them. Also, MR probably won't reach 1m copies sold, but that isn't a bad thing in this sales climate. Starboy, one of the biggest hits of the year, just reached 1m this week. If you don't like MR, just say it, don't try and pretend people don't like it, or it doesn't have potential, because it's obvious it does.

Starboy hit over  1 Million on the week ending 12/22 at least according Kworb in three months. Plus he is a beast with streaming. I don't have to prove or admit the I don't like MR. I do like MR. I don't like the video to MR.

The official soundscan numbers were reached last week, which only proves my point, it is one of the biggest hits of the year and has stayed top ten on sales pretty much its whole run, but it still took a long time to reach 1m. MR is not a flop if it doesn't reach that.

Considering the situation Gaga is in with radio and streaming, I don't consider MR a flop. The singles from Britney's first self-titled era aren't flops, but they definitely had bad peaks, just because she had bad radio.

OMG you are not comparing the Britney album success to Joanne are you?

That album went on the sell 5 million in the US and went on to sell 15 Million worldwide. Her first single was top ten in every other country. We'll be lucky if Joanne sells 1.5 Million Worldwide and MR will not be charting top ten around the world.

1) I wasn't comparing album sales (sales decline does exist though btw so comparing 15m to 1.5m is a bit skewed)

2) They are similar situations because in both, radio was stopping them from going higher. I understand radio wasn't playing the songs for different reasons, but the point I was making still stands.

You're becoming as annoying as Android logo :saladga:

1) Single success doesn't alone signify a successful era, Joanne is selling better than Bedtime Stories considering sales decline.

2) The reason MR isn't doing well on radio is because PI messed up radio.

idk anymore tho its been months

The lack of radio support is probably caused by the last few years when she put out "flop" after "flop", PI included. It has prob hurt her reputation and trust in her material to radio more than we want to believe? Idk, there's just no other explanation, cause this time the song really is good and people love it, it's just that the name "Lady Gaga" next to that song doesn't let radio programmers to give the song a chance I'm thinking...Just...what else can it be then?

It was one of the biggest hits of the year and it was released after PI. It's has had 110 days of sales and has reached 1 Million in a little over three months. What was the official neilson number?

The eternal battle to prove MR is already a flop before all is said and done is getting boring.

There's a prize for the winner? Who are the judges? Who will decide at the end if MR is a flop, a hit, or comercially average?
