Because of YouTube pranksters, so many people have been tricked on both sides of political issues. I have had to explain to my family how basically all "social experiments" posted on the site are 100% fake way too many times, but they still fall for it every time.

I'm not sure if this incident is exactly the same, but people like him are seriously messing with the public's perception of the real problems. By faking it, they're detracting from the actual hate crimes and indiscretions that happen every day.

This is 100% the worse part about the situation.

So many people got angry about this and rightfully so! If they find out it was all a lie, they will think twice about believing people when they say they were treated unfairly somewhere like this because of their race etc.

Same, I was happy to defend him yesterday when I thought they were racists. This isnt something to celebrate at all, it is concerning since Muslims who suffer real hate crimes won't be taken as seriously.
