I'm all about the timing of things and bad news is never delivered at this time, when everyone's caught between being stressed out and simultaneously being pressured to feel happy for the holiday season. I know bad news floored me a few days ago and it wouldn't have had the same effect on me if it had happened at any other time of year. Seriously, whether it was Camila's decision to leave now or her management told her to leave now, that is a cold way to end things. Shame for the fans, an even bigger shame for the other girls. The question is, who decided on this? The idea that Camila got one taste of solo fame (and only through a feature at that) and suddenly thought she was good enough to go it alone...I buy that. But would her management pressure her to leave because they saw the cash cow opportunities for her and the sooner she goes solo, the better? Or was it a mixture of the two? Whatever, this is really shady. I know, manufactured group loses a member, happens all the time, but I always think it's such a shame. It reminds me of The Pussycat Dolls. Carmit left after one album, going down in history as one of the fastest departures ever for a pop group. She admitted that all the in-fighting, the unequal pay and the fact that Nicole was taking over were the reasons why she left...and it's also the same reasons that the other girls eventually followed suit after the second album. They all admitted it further down the line. Surprise surprise, when the lead vocalist becomes the main attraction and the rest of the group become glorified backing singers, (despite all of them having vocal talent), the band's going to be cheesed off and want out. I mean, before Nicole had even released her solo album, their Hush Hush single was billed as "Nicole Scherzinger feat. The Pussycat Dolls." That is how keen her management were to push her as a solo act even though she wasn't getting anywhere. This kind of stuff really annoys me. I was sad for the girls in Pussycat Dolls, same for Destiny's Child. I always stand up for them when the need arises and have serious issues with the one who went solo. The only good thing to come out of this? It might make the fans start to migrate to Little Mix, who deserve the attention and sales much more. Better music, better vocalists, genuine friends. Simon Cowell was a fool to temporarily abandon them to make FH. He had a great girl group going, started to get the feeling that they were on the decline and moved on. Then when 5H struggled to get a hit was when LM started re-peaking. It's pathetic how Simon's been pushing and pushing 5H on the British market by getting one of his acts on XF to sing not one but 2 songs by them (which led to her being eliminated) and getting every single little segment of ITV programming to feature 5H songs as backing music.
