i legitimately despised emo culture and used all my power as student government, school paper editor and science club president to have those bangs and eyeliners banned in school but their music is undeniably great :music:

Am I the only one who finds this statement scary? :emma:

@MonsterPaws our school had prescribed uniform. I never had issues with the songs and the student government even had band contests I fully supported and enjoyed. Besides, like I said earlier, I was a petty high schooler. I've dropped that phase long ago

I understand the points both of you are trying to make but I still don't put these in the same category as the cheesy, typical myspace appearance I think MCR portrayed at one point their career, which I find atrocious. Although Gaga has had similar moments where I felt the same way about her. I don't take it to heart or anything :emma:

nope, no harm done. was just pointing out that there were similarities in their visuals at some point :laughga:

EDIT: I think you also have it backwards--people molded their looks after MCR, not the other way around. tagging you so you get a notif on the edit @Oolong

Not sure how to feel about that. I wasn't (and still am not entirely) aware of whether or not they had an impact on anything, although it makes sense :emma:

I never liked or gave a chance to these American emo bands, they all seemed like copies of different gothic melancholic rock and metal bands from Europe and they were a lot behind the trend. :reductive:
