US Shale is usually really light oil that isnt much thicker than milk Canada used to use harmful diluents to make the oil liquidy enough to move thru pipelines but now it simply buys light Shale Oil from US to mix the two together As well the US buys heavy Canadian oil to mix when more consistancy is required In short, the complement of both ends if spectrum is cheaper and environmentally safer than diluents or fillers Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Oil has very little to do with energy other than transportation tho, so I dont get what ur getting at EVs maybe they are getting good. But heavier forms of transportation such as trucks and planes still cant rely on them As for all other oil uses and products they have nothing to do with energy nor do they have economical substitutes I think its easier to replace Coal and Natural Gas at this time than Oil cuz green electricity is more realistic than the stuff oil is for Coal is more toxic anyway Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
