One of the most critically acclaimed and groundbreaking albums of this century was released midnight three years ago.

A surprise release, and the first of its kind, the album changed what an album could be for a mainstream artist. This album was a visual album, with acclaimed videos for each one of its masterpeice songs.

It was the album that made no promotion the norm. It turned the surprise release into one of the only formats used to realease music anymore.

I remeber the day it came out. I was staying up for no reason, and my phone beeped. Low and behold life had literally changed. One of my favourite albums ever had been released.

It went on to win many awards, and top many charts, with some big  songs coming out of it, make Beyoncé one of the official biggest stars ever.

Before you come for me, yes people is the minimal promo thing before, but Bey perfected it and made it mainstream so she deserves that credit. Same goes for the visual album in that sense.

XO was a DAMN good song.

didn't like the rest.

XO was a damn underrated song. So much better than drunk in love. It was S N U B B E D at the Grammys. Should have gotten those SOY and ROY nods.

idk how Drunk in love became the hit single. I mean its clear that beyonce's team even thought XO would be the hit.

Im not even big on Beyonce, but XO is one of my favorite songs this decade

I liked it a lot more than Lemonade and it's probably my favorite album of hers after Dangerously in Love

Rocket, Blow, and Partition/Yonce are my favorites

This album literally dragged me within an inch of my life

Ugh literally so many amazing songs. I would host pregames and just play the album and dance with my friends to it for like a solid year.

Partition, Blow, and Mine are my personal faves

The visuals are truly amazing. They are what made me like some songs. I never liked Haunted, Superpower, and Mine, but I saw the videos and I was hooked

I know that you're like the biggest Beyoncé fan here on GGD, so I've got some questions for you lol

I know the GP had no clue she was making an album until it was released, but did fans know? Like was there any leaks like the omg leak we got for Joanne?

What about producers? Did any of them say anything like, "Bey's new album is so heartfelt and amazing!" or were they told not to speak by Bey or the label?

Great album. Love Mine, Yoncè and Partition the most.

Feel like I often sleep on Blow and they I casually listen to it and remember that it's actually a bop and the video is slick af.

Grown Woman, Flawless and Pretty Hurts are also good.
