I swear Sia and Kendrick Lamar are collaboratong with ANYONE EVEN WITH SOCKS

This is not really a lie (:ladyhaha:), but Sia has been mentoring Brooke Candy for about an year, and Brooke has been mentioning this collab for a while, it's something important for them

It's cute; for a collab between these two I expected something that sounded 'darker'. The instrumental sounds like something that could be used in a commercial for Nickelodeon :stalkga:

I think that's exactly what they avoided lol

So that's what Brooke Candy is doing right now? seriously?

If someone played this for me 4 years ago and told me that one of the singers was legit Brooke Candy, there would be no way in this world I would believe them.

I'm sorry this is terrible.  No wonder Gaga doesn't seem to give a **** about keeping up with the trends.  This sound that is popular now is pretty much embarrassing  to be caught listening to.  To echo what another member said in the 'Million Reasons being ignored" post,  everything in mainstream radio sounds like it's intended for a teeny bopper 11-year old shopping at Forever 21.

it indeed is

"We met over the Internet. She found me on Instagram. She emailed me. I had no idea who she was. She was like, “Hi, my name is Sia. I want to write a pop song for you. Will you meet me at this café?” I didn’t really know who she was, and I didn’t believe it. I thought it was this girl who was online bullying me, which sounds so funny. I emailed her back and was like, “Hey, don’t email me again. **** you.” She emailed me again and was like, “Hey, no, it’s really me.” So I went and met her at this café. I sat down with her and we talked and then she was like, “**** a song! I’m going to do your album. I’m going to find some management, and you’re gonna kill it.” And then beyond all those things, which are so great, she also helped me get off of drugs. To me, that was the most magical thing that’s ever happened in my life. It was so hard to get out of that ****ing hole. That hole was a grave, and she pulled me out of it. I owe her my life forever because of that."

I understand if Brooke wants to be mainstream but this song so far just sounds :neyde: .

you gotta make mainstream music at the beginning, so you can break through

I really loved her work in Grimes' Genesis

Watch this masterpiece where she collaborated with Steven Klein and Nicola Formichetti

this is such a far cry from the brooke candy I used to be into, who released "das me" "don't touch my hair hoe" and the opulence EP. The last decent song she released was "Rubber Band Stacks" then she stopped rapping after that and began singing (which personally I think is awful)

I'm so glad Sia took Brooke under her wing! She helped her get sober and Sia is executive producing her debut if I'm not mistaken. Excited to hear the final result!
