Streaming has ruined most charts and caused them to be stuck with tho same songs. 15+ weeks of the below par One Dance and 10ish weeks of the irritating Closer at number one has spoiled the charts Not a good/bad thing, but it means that Scottish monsters are not any different from other monsters - their charts are. StrawberryBlond 14,995
I'm Scottish too - went to TMB in Glasgow back in the day and went to both artRave shows in Glasgow as well. I was just thinking the same thing about our Scottish chart. We've been very kind to Gaga this era and previously. Yes, I know our much smaller sales figures don't count for much and because we're part of the UK, when we make a tune #1 here, it doesn't count for anything. But it's still nice all the same so that labels can hopefully see if there is love for an artist in specific regions. I hope Gaga keeps coming back to Scotland in the future because of this, even if it's just one date. I remember she said at the end of Y&I, I think: "Scotland, you take me there every time." Most artists say that Scotland has some of the best crowds in the world because we always go crazy singing along at live shows. For anyone who doesn't know, the Scottish charts came about in 1994. Which honestly surprised even me. I could have sworn I didn't see it listed on charts lists on Wikipedia until 2010, when I was informed that they even existed.
