kind of sad at the state of gaga's style

idk, tbh... i guess it's a mix of nostalgia and unrealistic standards but i was always used to gaga being a trend setter and someone who is very in-tune with underground art (whether that be in the form of fashion or music, etc).

i just wish gaga would get more inspiration from aesthetics that aren't already major style subgenres- to me, a lot of this era has been rehashing looks that have already been done or aren't majorly significant. gaga has the starpower to create movements in fashion so personally, i'd like to see more exploration and refinement in her wardrobe. celebrities have all of the access in the world to new fashions and such so there isn't really an excuse not to dabble? (obviously she can chose not to because she has other ideas about what she wants to wear, etc)

what do you guys think? do you guys think gaga is out of touch with the current fashion in underground scenes? idk just discuss imo

I agree. She is rehashing some styles from TFM/BTW era to surprise her fans, but I think some of them already looked awful then. 

She should let the Joanne look stay with some more wigs.

I feel like she has abandoned her connection to up and coming fashion designers, at least for the time being.  The Brandon Maxwell era is all about bland.

At least at moments she still brings the slayage like at VSFS.  Hoping for more of that.

Someone said it before on a different thread, but I think she is slowly sneaking the "CrazyGa" back into the spotlight, I think she's taking it slow so not to overwhelm or oversaturate. And maybe a surprise in the Million Reasons video will be a nod to the classic looks from previous eras?

i definitely agree. there are so many creative people i know, some that have worked with gaga in the past and it's kind of odd to me that she doesn't utilize the vision/resource/direction of those young creatives like she once did idk

i'm not even talking about "crazyga". it's so binary for some of you, there can only be CRAZYGA or BASICGA. i'm not talking about putting on 10 pounds of swiss cheese or dancing in 3 feet tall heels, i'm simply saying that she should do more exploration within relatively fresh and contemporary styles. nothing too extreme tbh

Idk but have you ever thought that we should not give Gaga, or any one for that matter, the pressure to lead "movements in fashion" and get in touch with "underground scenes"? Dressing up, presenting yourself in public is a very, very personal choice and an intimate affair, so I don't think that she should be "different" because she needs to and that the world needs her too. It should be her choice and it should reflect her stater of mind, inner persona at the moment. That's fashion, right?And with the whole #JoanneVibes thing you know that she is not just in that state right now.

well, duh. i stated in the op that she could be making a conscious decision to be more restricted in terms of her creative direction, etc.

however, for her to not be  exploring is kind of odd for me to see as a longtime fan of hers. i guess that's where i'm feeling some dissonance.
