Supersonic 49,376
Last night, a fire broke out at a warehouse party in Oakland, California, where a show involving artists from Los Angeles-based electronic label 100% Silk was taking place. Golden Donna, Cherushii, Nackt, and more were on the bill. According to the East Bay Times, the fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. PST. with “30 to 70” concertgoers inside the building when the fire began. Officials say at least 24 people have died as a result of the fire, and many are still unaccounted for; several attendees have been taken to the hospital according to reports from the party’s Facebook event. As of 4 a.m. PST, the fire “had not been officially declared under control,” with fire crews planning to remain “on scene for several more hours” according to the Oakland fire department’s Twitter account. 100% Silk called the fire an “unbelievable tragedy, a nightmare scenario” and has provided a list of resources to keep posted on the situation; find their statement below. They have also said they did not “organize, host, promote, or have any involvement” in the event “beyond releasing music by some of the artists involved.” Source: http://pitchfork.com/news/70189-several-reported-dead-after-fire-breaks-out-at-100-silk-party-in-oakland/ News is currently breaking on Cherushii's facebook page with people writing their condolences. https://www.facebook.com/CherushiiMusic/
