You have the worst off tangent non-argument quotations in this thread and you explicitly ignore the summarizing point I always clarify at the end of my post. On top of that, you always ask loaded questions. Quote me after you reconsider your arguments. Flyin' like a 1000 Doves
Adakam 2
I think Madonna was a big philosophical influence, but not musical, i agree with you, she has said multiple times how she grew up listening to rock.

Then it's pointless to state that. It has no relevance. 41 minutes ago, A Gaga Lad said: But clearly, they are much more similar than detractors like you would like to admit. Again, pointless. Being similar and being influenced are two different things. Quite a rant to make a worthless point.

How dare similarities be said as a point of contention in a thread discussing similarities between gaga and her influences. I also like how you conveniently avoided the similarities in their roles you specifically asked me to state. Flyin' like a 1000 Doves

I really wanna find the post or article that listed out the Cher comparisons. Visually, personality-wise, and musically, Gaga is WAY more like Cher than Madonna. Can't we all just agree that Gaga has had many influences, one of which is Madonna? Our girl is so diverse and has captured so many different looks, sounds, etc. - there's no way we can say she learned it all from one legend or one artist. Literally all the medonsters here are saying is that Madonna is ONE of the major influences. It's Enigma and the rest that are being extra. I also like how you conveniently avoided the similarities in their roles you specifically asked me to state. I didn't ignore them. I just think they're not relevant. Again, similarities are not the same as influences. They're off topic. They prove nothing. Do you understand that? There are a lot of similarities in many industries. There's a reason there aren't lawsuits flying around everywhere. Because some basic concepts can't be held as copyright to someone. Now, the case you make is even more loose. There are a lot of arguments to be made against 'influences', though. For example, it's may have not been up to Gaga what character would play in AHS or show may take another direction at a given time. Cinematography is much more different than music, simply because the existence and concept of the character doesn't lie solely in the hands of the actor that plays it. Making the same case in music is understandable though. Don't get me wrong, it's common knowledge Madonna was an influence on Gaga, but extending it to cinematography is silly for various reasons. chrismugler 944
She is an influence and she will always be. Everyone has someone to be influenced by. PS. Being influenced in someone's past work doesn't mean copying it. Gaga has been influenced by several artists including MDNA, that's cool, she might have borrowed some elements, that's cool as well, now let it go. B.B.A. / Music Lover / Human. Donna Summer was giving you "Hot Stuff" and ABBA was asking the world to "Give Me A Man After Midnight" while Madonna was still blowing her BF under the bleachers in highschool.
