There are plants of things more disrespectful to our fellow man that are still legal. Are we gonna ban all kinds of racist or sexist or homophobic speech? Those are disrespectful. Plus, America is a bigoted nation with half of the country wanting to pass laws against minorities and LGBT people, they deserve to be disrespected. It's disrespectful to anyone who has fought and died for our country. See, I don't agree with this. I respect people's bravery to go into the service. It's a courageous act. HOWEVER, just because you are in the military doesn't mean you automatically get my respect. If you are a bad person (and there are plenty of them who are currently serving/veterans) you don't get my respect. It's the same with police officers. You still have to EARN respect. You can't go around doing whatever the **** you want. AND once our government pays back the Native Americans for the atrocities we have caused in the past/present.... America will not earn my full respect. (Plus all of the other oppressions of minorities) The flag is an object. Don't get so wrapped up in the idea of a symbol of nationalism. PaperIz 7,354
I don't agree with burning the flag, but it's freedom of speech. It's an object, our military didn't fight for fabric, they fought for people and our freedom. Human generated art
