Her music isn't bad, but it doesn't reach that level, with or without help from other people on it. Even though I'm not a big fan, I am lowkey rooting for Katy to put out something that gathers a lot of respect. I think she deep down wants to be respected as a musician but just hasn't put in the right type of work or focus. Her heart doesn't seem in most of the "serious" stuff she does. Like Rise? So tryhard and feels very ingenuine. But there's something in her that wants to reach out? idk. I just wish she could really tap into something during her creative process one day. I'd actually be kind of pissed if she makes serious music and gets praised and tons of awards, and when Gaga does it she gets somewhat low praise, low charting, and little recognition (and with the metacritic scores I'm not putting my money on any Grammys, but I really hope it does).
