I really think that she just lied to us back then, and now she's authentic and real. Even if the Gaga-persona was not 100% fake, it was to a certain extent. I think she didn't do it to 'please' us but to make us like her and buy her stuff. I think it was really just a marketing strategy, while she was being herself, just not fully. Its not about renouncing to be "gaga"! Its about wanting to be seen as more thab just that. Having people listen and be interested in other things other just wearing meat. I love interviews like these because it really shows that underneath it all she's a human being with feelings. People (even in this fanbase) tend to forget that sometimes.
