REALITY 76,234
Just now, Drew Jeremy said: You have a good point, but honestly, we can all imagine they would probably be hits. I mean, yes, they could have been hits, I get what you're trying to say, but at the same time, I can't stand why people just automatically assume that just because it's "more pop" and just because it's RedOne, they automatically think that it's going to be a huge success. If she had released that album, and if it wasn't a huge success, y'all would be complaining even more. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

I'm not complaining, I'm just giving an opinion. I love Joanne, never complained about it's material. Same with ARTPOP, while everyone was saying it was a flop and terrible and she was over, I loved it and and everything she was doing.

It reached the top of the charts so it's by no mean a flop album or a bad one. This is just an opinion. BUT: I've seen a lot of people saying that Gaga's career is ending. (which it really isn't, stop overreacting). But I think if she released the original pop album she was working on before she scraped it, (I think everyone is on board with the whole 'Scraped pop record when Bowie died and did Joanne' theory), and she was dressing crazy like she always has, and the RedOne songs were out, everyone would be living for her. ARTPOP wasn't as good as the others but everyone still lived for her bc the album was pop and she was dressing more outrageous than ever. And before you comment 'she doesn't need the RedOne songs to have a hit! It doesn't matter, they won't do anything for her!' Shut the f*ck up. Bad Romance, Poker Face, Just Dance: ALL her most popular and successful songs which were produced by RedOne. They would definitely be hits and we would all love them. 666 others 1,856
She would probably get more commercial success and instant gain in popularity if she released a pop album. But I think she on the right path to gain longevity, true long-term recognition. A good pop album would also have had longevity (TF says hi), I'm by no means among those music-snobs who trash pop. But at the end of the day it's up to Gaga as to what kind of music she wants to create. I'm happy as long as she is happy and creating new music. :holyshit:

Anyway, I agree with you on that the GP would have preferred for sure a more mainstream pop album and outrageous outfits but you know, although success is undeniably good, I think it's more important for Gaga to do what she feels like and not what people want. One way or another, though, the album is already released so it's better to enjoy the era and not to worry about what could have been
RAMROD 109,223
Didn't she just release one this year? It's just not the dance/EDM pop you wanted? Know how vast pop genre is? Anderson123 38,181
1. Joanne is Pop. 2. RedOne songs - They probably don't exist, they're rough demos that didn't go past that. You guys have to understand that Gaga was not like "Ok so I'm working with RedOne, we have Poker Face 2.0, Bad Romance 2.0, Judas 2.0, etc. lets just keep this unreleased to piss off the fans". No, the things they recorded were probably not good enough to be part of an album. She recorded over 50 songs for Born This Way, not to mention ARTPOP. It's not like she writes 15 songs and all of those 15 end up on the album. I wish people would just understand this. And no, Joanne is not iconic. We'll talk about that in a year or more, an album or something doesn't become iconic after one month of being out.
Naor Daniel 937
If she made Joanne in six months she could make a great pop album in less than a year. She's 30 already. I hope she won't make us wait another three years after this era.
Eddie 2,518
What I love about Gaga are her concept videos I think that's what's been missing this era...not RedOne's generic af production because if you hear his songs they really are and, at least to me, just dance and poker face sound soooo similar that they even have that stupid horn sound (God I hate that sound so much). What I really need are those freaking videos...damn, all Joanne songs have the potential to have iconic videos but noooooo we are stuck in a dwuw waiting era again. I really thought this era was gonna be organized but *sigh* What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

sipthistea 21,099
Why do people feel entitled to tell what Gaga should or shouldn't do with her own career? It would be pretty lame if she did exactly what others tell her to do. There are many other popstars who do that.
