3 years ago the only albums I listened to were by female artists, but this past year the only albums ive listened to were all male artists. I seem to like their music more nowadays

They do talk about them sometimes, it depends on whose music is out at the moment. I listen to Justin Timberlake and Adam Lambert a lot but they've been away for quite some time now, so there's really nothing to talk about right now. The Weeknd is about to release an album that I want to listen to and I've seen people talk about Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Zayn, Nick Jonas, Maroon 5, these other two guys that I've never listened to (Charlie whatevs and Shawn), etc.

They DO talk about male popstars, it's just that some of them are part of bands or people here are too young to know about other than the ones on the charts (Robbie Williams just released an album a couple of weeks ago and nobody made a thread about it). And of course, most guys here are gay and they live for females.

I'm guilty of this, but its because male artists are so boring, and honestly the last time they were interesting was in the 80's

I'm really into Bon Iver's latest album actually. Frank Ocean's Blonde is also not bad.

I'm a huge fan of Bowie too.

About The Weeked since they're popular, I like a few songs but that's it really, and I also liked the aesthetic Zayn was rocking, this laser lights thing was quite cool. Wish his muisic was better.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I mostly listen to female artists, but when it comes to male ones my hubby Måns wins the prize

Pretty much every member of one direction will be putting an album soon so maybe one of them will be awesome.  Rooting for Liam Payne.  He was my fave directioner.

I don't find male solo artists as interesting personality wise or music wise or lyric wise

Also, I just prefer female singing voices, even in Opera. I feel like there is more of a license to be "beautiful" and "pretty" and "expressive" or even practice the "arts" in our collective subconscious in society and like stated here, sometimes the things we praise male solo artists for specifically are them expressing what would be considered "feminine" traits. (Falsetto, flamboyancy, higher voices, etc.) Not that that is good or bad, just a slightly biased observation. I mostly listen to solo artists and small groups when it comes to popular music, but when I find a male artist I like (which comes down to their voice/lyrics usually) I'm not like, shy to acknowledge them.

Bruno Mars is kind of bae tbh, 24k magic has been slaying me for half a day now :sis:

(I do think tween male pop stars are kind of annoying and unoriginal though, sorry Shawn Mendes + co)
