Fanta 5,019
When the Joanne era was close to beginning I began to post on GGD once again and when I searched for her thread in the Fan Base section it wasn't there? In general, what happened to Brooke Candy? Last I read her debut LP was being produced by Sia and was meant to drop this summer, she was even releasing a bunch of songs with (low budget) videos. Don't get me wrong, I'm head over heels for Candy but all I see on her Instagram is random costumes and performances with zero talk of putting anything out. It's disappointing because I felt like she had potential, Happy Days and Changes are beautiful songs.

MaryJaneHolland 77,348
she's been performing "oh yeah" quite a lot lately, let's hope it's lead oh, and btw, she's under RCA, so......
elijahfan 26,406
I'm wondering the same. It's like she's covering all those indie magazines, but has nothing to sell or to say. At this point I'm really over this bullshit, we've been waiting for that debut LP for way too long.

They're perfectly fine if you want creative freedom and control (a la Miley and Her Dead Petz) but if you want good promo and consistent single release, RCA are the worst. tHeRe cAn bE oNe hUnDrEd pEoPlE iN a rOoM

Goodtimes12128 230
I miss the old Brooke. She had so much potential. She signed her music deal with Sia under some sort of pretense that she could retain her artistic integrity. But since then, there's been no rap music and she's become some sort of commercial fashion puppet. She's as much a muse to clothing designers as a rehash of punk rock chicks from the 90's. Unfortunately, the girl that made her famous in 2012 with "Das me" is gone forever and now we have an industry produced pop girl who can't sing and doesn't rap. Nicola Formicetti litteraly left Gaga and latched onto Brooke as his muse in 2013 like she was about to break out into megastardom. I didn't intend to write anything about this TBH but she used to have soooo much potential and it's sad to see that she signed with a major record label and they turned her into something she wasn't. And the consumers, us, saw right through it and never bought into Brooke Candy the pop singer. I literally googled "WTF happened to Brooke Candy" and it led me here, so that's where I'm at! I'll be honest I like her new music just as much as her old music, well, Happy Days and Changes are good. However, I don't understand what she's doing at this point. It's literally NOTHING. Being photographed is not a career, and she has so much potential. I hope she resurfaces soon...
