What a sad list Gaga finds herself among :green:

let's be real, though. who here isn't relieved she's part of that group? can you imagine what her detractors would say if she wasn't there? :madge:

Where is Beyonce though? I thought she was the queen of music?

Beyoncé will continue to sell more albums and tickets than you can even dream of.

reviews of her latest tour were insanely, overwhelmingly positive. So if not the queen of hit singles she's the closest to MJ that we have so..

There is NO ONE close to MJ. Just like there is NO ONE close to Madonna. Y'all need to STOP overrating her like that because its making me not want to hear her music

Does Nicki have a top 10 that isn't a feature or "Anaconda"? Does features count? someone educate me please :lana:

Super Bass, Starships and Anaconda are her solo top 10 hits. The rest are features. Well you could count Bang Bang as a lead too.

She has:

BedRock, Bottoms Up, Make Me Proud, Dance (ASS), Turn Me On, Give Me All You Luvin', Beauty and a Beat, Hey Mama, and Side to Side as Top 10 Features

:applause: female pop stars of the 2010s.

I feel like there's never been a better batch of popstars IMO. Even though I don't even like some of them, it was cool that each woman had their own thing going on and unique personality, and it's cool that most of them started out as bonafide adult women.

I was around for the Y2K era of Britney/Xtina/Jessica/Mandy etc., but while that was also fun, that group is very homogenous in comparison.

not to mention as of now only the first two are at least marginally relevant

Right, all those Y2K girls were clones of Britney Spears. I watched a thing and i guess all those girls were other record labels' answer to Britney because the labels saw how successful she was.

Christina was RCA's answer to Britney

Jessica was Columbia Record's answer to Britney

Mandy was Epic's answer to Britney

I like how the girls in the late 00's/early 10's were different.

However, Kesha was made to be like Lady Gaga. That was Dr. Luke's vision cuz he saw how successful Gaga was.

People need to stop overreacting to other people's opinions.... LMAO

Acting like this is simply immature. MJ and Madonna are iconic but so are other artists.

Yeah, I also like that Kesha put her own trashy, fun spin on it. During their debut's Gaga was more Warhol, Bowie, and glam rock in a millennial blonde pop star's skin, whereas Kesha was more Leonard Skynard, Iggy Pop, and southern rock n' roll in a millennial blonde pop star's skin. She was care-free whilst Gaga was studied.

I remember seeing Kesha on The City (MTV's spin-off of The Hills), and they had a plot point of Olivia Palermo having to deal with Kesha wanting to incorporate black trash bags in her fashion shoot because "trash was her thing." I felt as if it was the producers rectifying themselves after cutting that brief Gaga segment out of The Hills and not wanting to miss out on getting the next big pop star on their show this time around, so yeah, I think Gaga made people have a renewed interest in female popstars, especially ones that differed a bit from the norm.

It's cool that you can still feel Gaga's influence in new artists in the alt-pop scene, like Allie X, Brooke Candy, and to a certain extent Melanie Martinez. In a way, I feel like instead of straight-up clones (though that also happened), she kind of inspired individuality and people wanting to find their own thing that would make them seem unique.
