I can't understand identifying as one of these 37 "options", but I also can't understand being straight - because it's not me. I'm sure straight people can't understand being gay either. I know how it feels to have people dismiss that as unimportant and say it's not real - that it's a choice. So I'd never want to put anyone else in that position. Who are you to say what someone is based on your own identity...? Why would you protest this? It makes absolutely no sense to me. If it's not hurting you or anyone else - what's the problem? It's nothing to make fun of. If you just want to be male or female, then you can be that. Complaining about stuff that has nothing to do with you is completely pointless and a waste of energy for you and the people you're trying to mock and oppress. Just go on with your day. Because some people feel it threaten their own identity and maybe instead of being self centered and seeing their norm as the norm for everyone they need to work and consider that some people don't experience the same reality and are actually oppressed for how they identify. I agree with you, live and let live is not hard. Opening a book that explains the difference between biological sex and gender is not hard either. Understanding that gender and its binary is a social construct is also not so dofficult, tons of studies online, compare with other cultures that have more than one gender.... also considering that our society is build based on such binary with specific gender roles and that contributes to oppression is not difficult... but it might be if you don't live such oppression... it asks to open your mind and empathy. And I say this while identifying as a woman. 37 is a lot? Maybe, honestly I don't care, you do you.
