Whispering

Besides this giant waste of time and money that Homeland Security has already deemed as redundant...

"Kobach said the immigration group had also discussed ways of overturning President Barack Obama’s 2012 executive action that has granted temporary deportation relief and work permits to more than 700,000 undocumented people or “dreamers” who came to the United States as children of illegal immigrants."

@Morphine Prince You should make a separate thread about the above.

Now, Frank Gaffney is involved with Trump's transition team. Gaffney is a Muslim hating, conspiracy theorist. The basket of deplorables is adding more disgusting people everyday.

Holocaust in the US?

Seems like it

:madge:

Gurl, the holocaust was a historical event. It's like saying "Fall of the Berlin wall" happening in the USA?

And the issue is far more complex. Even IF Muslim get into a database it would be based on Religion while the Jewish persecution in Europe is based on blood/ethnicity

Oh okay so it's okay to persecute someone for their religion?

Awesome thanks for the clarification.

I knew you'll jump on him for that comment and completely ignore the seriousness of this topic.

SO WHAT IF IT'S BASED ON RELIGION AND NOT ETHNICITY, DOES IT MAKE IT MORE ACCEPTABLE?!

though it's easier to flee on it (e.g changing religion, though it's of course not good nevertheless)

Calm down? I just said that religious based persecution ,which is bad, can be avoided by changing religions for example. Black people couldn't change their skin color and Jews couldn't change the heritage when they got persecuted. Religious persecution is still not good. :smh:

I think I'm just being misinterpreted, I'm sorry for confusion. I didn't want say is good what Trump is doing or that it is less harmful.

So all the convert Jews, without Jewish mother or ability to track their roots, who were persecuted actually had it easier, cause they could just change their religion, is that what you are saying??

Because it sounds like that.

I don't know much about the story of people who converted to Judaism during that time. But they could just prove that they had "aryan" background and that's it. The Holocaust was a "racially" motivated atrocity against Jews and Roma. there is a difference between religious persecution which ,as I said and I repeat myself now, is bad

Then why did you bring  up "it's more complex, not based on ethnicity/can be avoided"?

Christian persecution is not that bad, cause it can be avoided, they could just convert to other religion or become atheist, is this what you are saying?

It sounds like you are justifying religious persecution. Most of the people are not ready or willing to give up on their faith because government wants to keep registry based on their religion, but they will be targeted. This is also connected with racial profiling of everyone who "looks Middle Eastern/brown". And they can't change that.

How do I justify it when I condemn it? It sounds like you just want to put words in my mouth.

Racial profiling is another thing and a problem because they try to make something an ethnicity which isn't and this can be harmful for Muslims and brown Non-Muslims as well.
