That's so funny, here I was thinking that Trump feeding the conspiracy that the first Black President was illegitimate and was actually born in Kenya was racist! I thought that threatening to ban all Muslims entering the country was islamophobic! I thought calling Megan Kelly a 'bimbo' who was tough on him because she was 'bleeding from her wherever' was sexist! I thought characterising Mexican immigrants as criminals and rapists (with some, he assumes, being ok) was racist! I thought saying thousands of American Muslims in New Jersey cheered the 9/11 attacks (which is obviously false) was islamophobic! I thought saying a distinguished federal judge, born in Indiana, couldn’t be trusted to do his job because, quote, ‘He’s a Mexican.’ was racist!

I thought when he said: 

“Is there anyone who doesn’t renegotiate deals in this room? Perhaps more than any room I’ve spoken to.”

And

“You’re not going to support me, because I don’t want your money, you want to control your own politician.”

To the Republican Jewish Coalition that seemed kinda anti-semitic!



I mean really??? That's all just from the campaign trail too, he has a long recorded history of racism. This is my favourite one because it's so blatant and Trump acknowledged that he "probably" said it.

I mean come on... David Duke wasn't gleefully boasting about how his ideas have gone mainstream and how Trump talks about things he has been saying for decades because he gets all his information from the liberal media and got confused. The number of neo-nazi ultra-nationalist factions supporting Trump are not doing so because they heard he was racist on MSNBC. Trump supporters where not yelling "JEW-S-A!" at reporters, saying black people were better off as slaves, saying they have no respect for muslims and buying merchandise like "Trump That Bitch!" and "Hillary sucks! But not as much as Monica!" Because they were watching CNN and mistakenly thought Trump shared those values.

I mean you can try and simplify his terrible behavior as "not that bad" but all of my friends who are minorities are scared shitless because they have been harassed by his supporters whether when they are going out, at the mall, or in class.

Okay, I'm legitimately confused. I didn't start anything. I literally just was having a conversation. You went off-track and insulted me when I was having a conversation on a topic that concerns all of us, and the facts are that I'm not wildly flailing around and shrieking that the sky is falling, I'm trying to analyze what is actually going on, and I put in my input when I see something that I consider is inaccurate.

His entire MESSAGE and CAMPAIGN was about racial resentment and anger white America is feeling right now as a result of progress in equality and civil rights which has resulted in an increased competition in many areas including the labor market.

Now, instead of white people only having to worry about competing against themselves, they have to compete with others as well. That sets you up for more white people getting "left out". I mean welcome to the experience of minorities and people of color who were not able to participate and do certain things, and were left out for pretty much all of US history. Talk about white entitlement.

This is not even mentioning the automation of industry which has caused catastrophic job loss and which is not going to  be coming back no matter how much  people think it can come back. Yes, some of it can if jobs are brought back from overseas, but due to automation it will never be on the same level as it once was.

His message tapped into the anger and resentment some white people have for not fully getting to mask in their white privilege. It's beginning to be dismantled, and these white people are feeling threatened by it. Enter Trump and the symbolization he has for these white people, and the meaning behind "Make America great again" becomes all too clear for what Trump and many of his supporters read into it.

I have stated that trump has done some things that weren't smart. but this perception of him is wildly over the top.
