In terms of J-pop, I love Kyary.

But my favorite japanese music is visual-key. (Almost all of them are rock, but in terms of looks, some of them could make Gaga jealous haha)

Here's some of my favorites (don't expect great singers here haha)

And it is also insane how in korea all of the idols are amazing dancers and sometimes even amazing singers ( the singing level is not as good as the dancing mostly ) but in America you have trouble finding a popstar with at least bearable singing, where do they get all these talented people from ?

Well it is pop music after all, it's kinda hard to avoid being big marketing products. There are of course alternative stuff or deeper stuff that are pop in Asia. I for one lived in China for the majority of my life, so I know about bands or artists who make pretty quality music, but because Americans/westerners don't understand the language, all they hear about Asian music is kpop jpop etc

A lot of them go to music/dance schools and get trained since they're really young. I heard the industry is super competitive in terms of recruiting people who are super talented, and a lot of people try to do it too

I watch some korean show and they have to train really hard before their debut so they dancing skill are really good they have to stay in dorm too and they alway get the best choreography in every MV but their vocal skill is not that special. The only thing i dont like about korea idols is all group kinda look the same (like with style all the girl has to be sexy and cute)

Depends, man!

BABY METAL had a show in London (The SSE Wembley) and actually filled up the venue

They are going to releaseDVD for it

Also, last year BIGBANG had tour in North America for their MADE album and it was box office.

Sorry, it is hard to find a good fancams but this will do

2NE1 also visited Newark, NJ and LA before and pretty good feed back tbh

And legendary J-Pop Band, L'Arc-en-Ciel also filled up Madison Square Garden before

Of course one of my favourite band, Dir en Grey have been so often visiting USA since their 5th album in 2005-2006 at least

They had also participated at Family Values Tour, Music festival held my KoRn Members, it's like LoolaPalooza (which was held by Jane's Addiction member) but for hardcore rap and metal

So they are popular but not hugely popular because many people still have problems.with language barrier, even some people in this forum.

I've always felt that way about K-Pop, but I like J-Pop better. I feel like K-Pop just pumps out these manufactured "Spice Girls on steroids" girl bands.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
