Bernie is the definition of liberal non-politician while Warren is a typical democrat. Non politician? All the more reason to like his chances. There policy proposals are very similar, I don't think they'll have a significant enough difference on that front for one to appeal to centrists over the other. It would come down to presentation and Bernie is more likable and personable then Warren, at least that's how I think people would view it.

Except centrists usually vote for a more conservative candidate, not for the one who distances himself/herself from the system. Centrist also don't vote based on who is the most likable person. Warren and Bernie may have very similar proposals but their personalities and approaches are quite different.

I think there's a difference between conservatism and establishment, the latter of which is clearly not an attractive quality according to the electorate. Being more establishment friendly doesn't make u more conservative. And actually, I think many voters do vote based on likability I think Bernies personality would be more liked then Warrens

The way leftists, centrists and rightists vote is different. What is likable for leftists is never likable for the right. And centrists tend to differ from both sides too. Bernie is the perfect fit for leftists and liberals. That alone affects his chances with centrists. And it already happened this past election. Most centrists supported more Hillary than Bernie while Bernie was more popular amongst liberals.

If Warren turned out to be the perfect fit for liberals, would that hurt her with centrists?

But...he is very bad at economic issue, basically his terrible taxes policies are the reason why Trump get elected. So thank you for improving LGBT right but no thank you for economy. Bernie has always been fighting for social justice while Warren is more oriented to economics. That itself is more likable for centrists.

You mean she's more into economics then social issues? Because most centrists I know are more open to left social issues then economic ones.

Trump was elected because people are stupid. Obama was not perfect but how is Trump supposed to fix the tax system when he avoids paying his.

Most of her publications are about finances and economics so yeah I would say she is more into fixing economic issues than social issues (and I'm not saying she doesn't care). Most centrists are more open to social justice but it's constantly proven by polls that they are more concerned about the economy than social issues.
