That was a decision made by The Supreme Court, not Obama. Trump doesn't have the power to overturn a Supreme Court decision. Gay marriage could be under attack, but it should be well protected. Trump will no doubt select a conservative to replace Justice Antonin Scalia and if any other judgeships open up during his presidency then he would fill those seats with conservatives too. A public shortlist of Supreme Court candidates released by Mr Trump features only anti-LGBT conservatives, and he said he would “consider” using his appointments to overturn equal marriage. That's when things get a little bit scarier. With a majority conservative Supreme Court Marriage Equality could be overturned. A case would have to be brought against Obergefell v. Hodges, the decision that ruled in favor of marriage equality, and the Court would have to rule in favor of overturning marriage equality. It appeals to his conservative base I mean really what it comes down to is that he is going to have to elect conservative judges to the Supreme Court. Those conservative judges are no doubt going to be against gay marriage - his short list for judges to replace Scalia only included anti-LGBT conservatives. Unlike most of America, I'm not convinced our country is going to be destroyed. It's all over exaggeration by the media and upset democrats. I hope he is unable to push through a lot of his destructive environmental policies. Or, if he supports big oil and coal, I hope he at least continues supporting renewables as well so we can continue a natural transition away from carbon dirty fuels.
